Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Heart wrenching, and historically accurate
Revisado: 09-10-24
I love this story how it is fictional, but historically accurate. You absolutely can identify with the characters. Plus, it gives you a great understanding of this time.

Should have stoped at book 2
Revisado: 07-10-24
I felt like this particular book fell flat. Was not feeling super engaged in the plot, and I could not understand why the characters were acting the way they were in this book. Didn’t really feel like there is much new or different in the maturing of the characters relationship… same problems with different setting.

Historia
Stockbroker Isabelle Rhodes has a lot of money, a lot of trust issues, and a whole lot of reasons to believe her ex-girlfriend was right when she said that Isabelle sucked at relationships. With that accusation stuck in her head, Isabelle throws caution to the wind and dives into her first one-night stand. Checking that off her bucket list should be something to celebrate - except it turns out that the woman she just spent an earth-shattering night with is actually her newly hired company pilot, Audrey Graham. Ms. Never-See-You-Again just turned into Ms. See-You-Constantly.

Develop characters and story
Revisado: 06-08-24
I thought the characters were well developed, and the storyline was also strong. I also enjoyed the first person point of view storytelling. Definitely lots of steamy scenes but appropriate and made sense within the story.

In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

I voted for the other guy
Revisado: 10-07-19
I really enjoyed this book because the majority of it is not political. I was merely curious about Michelle Obama because the media tends to be unkind to everybody. A little towards the last handful of chapters she talked about the White House time and policies that they were trying to triumph... I still found this book more about her and her family’s experience... transitioning from everyday working person...mother... and then First Lady. It made me appreciate the Obamas even though I didn’t always agree with the policies... even more so in light of the presidential administration successor. I would say any fair minded person would enjoy the majority of this book.

Predictable
Revisado: 07-27-19
Basically the only man... the only woman... man that’s somewhat a loser eventually pulls his act together and saves girl. The author attempted to make the woman smart and strong but fell short. If you like planes, space, helicopters, etc. then author does a great job writing in detail about these things going disastrously wrong for the characters ... and how they fight through to eventually meet.

Great character development
Revisado: 07-08-19
I really appreciate the in-depth character development of Tonya. Unlike so many romance novels one tends to be portrayed as needing to be rescued... but not here. I truly enjoyed the romance development and the over arcing story. And yes there’s definitely some good romance sex writing too. But it’s nice that it’s not just about that. I really like this author so far and I enjoy the reader a lot. I’ve listen to a lot of the reader and she does a great job.

Fun funny and romantic
Revisado: 06-14-19
This was a delightful Surprise. I really loved how the author built the characters and develop them. The author used very descriptive language that helped listener relate- but not so much description that it was slow. I loved the cop character and how she swore… I laughed many times out loud. And the sexual tension that was built throughout the book was fabulous. The reader was also exceptional. Definitely one of the best narrators I’ve heard so.
