Historia
The world of Dematr had been locked unchanging for centuries by the Great Guilds, most people living in a world of oil lamps, crossbows, and horse cavalry, the Mechanics reserving to themselves the technology for steam locomotives, rifles, and far-talkers while the Mages treated all others as if they were nothing - until Master Mechanic Mari, dragon slayer and pirate queen, and Master of Mages Alain raised the army of the new day to free their world.

Revisado: 02-24-17
Having read all volumes of the initial series of the pillars of reality I was very pleased to see that a sequel series has begun. I enjoyed The first series so much that once I started to listen to book one in the sequel series, daughter of the Dragon, I took the day off to finish it. Highly recommend anything to Jack Campbell right.

WOW...that says it all......
Revisado: 02-18-15
I envy the mind that creates this story. It is complex, yet provide simplicity in it's ability to tie some strings together. And this is done to the point where you are wishing and hoping for specific events occur when events occur that you never saw coming, yet they realistically make the story much more intriguing. The antagonist is now fully visible and colorful and easily despised. The back story on the this villainous character is hinted at and will most likely take shape in more detail in the next volume...can't wait to experience how that will be developed.

Forced to fight for their lives, they leave the safety of the desert, traveling across the land to gather intelligence and shore up forgotten alliances. Revisado: 02-18-15
OK...now I am a fan. Characters in the volumes one and two seen initially seeming to be somewhat insignificant save their presence as "window dressing" like extras in a movie now speed to the forefront with visibility and purpose. Some clues to the future are provided which makes you want to know what is coming. Story leads you, teases you and runs like a movie in your mind. The narration is excellent at expressing the emotions of the characters whether stated or not in the prose.

Vosper's Revenge is the final book in Kristian Alva's popular Dragon Stones trilogy. As the races of Durn stand on the brink of war, the power-hungry emperor plans his conquest of the entire continent. The dragon riders are fragmented. They have been scattered across the land; weakened by the discovery of a traitor in their own ranks. Are the riders strong enough to defeat Vosper before he destroys them all?

Second volume better than the first.
Revisado: 02-18-15
Intrigued with the first volume I was really hooked in this one. The story expands, characters are further developed and become more real to the reader. Most interestingly it was when you felt you knew where the story was going that you are surprised by a shift to a direction that excites and was not foreseen. Could hardly wait to read the next volume as I completed this one.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely yes. Runs like a movie in your head.
What did you like best about this story?
I read the series in book form sometime ago. The disc dramatization created clearer brighter visions of the action and characters than I recall having from the reading of the series.
Have you listened to any of Kate Reading’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
First one of her narration and I was pleased.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Could not stop listening. Play it on the IPad in the car on ear buds while commuting as well as at home.
Any additional comments?
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
