Historia
On May 7, 1940, the House of Commons began perhaps the most crucial debate in British parliamentary history. On its outcome hung the future of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's government and also of Britain - indeed, perhaps, the world. Troublesome Young Men is Lynne Olson's fascinating account of how a small group of rebellious Tory MPs defied the Chamberlain government's defeatist policies that aimed to appease Europe's tyrants and eventually forced the prime minister's resignation.

This history is far from dry

Riveting. Couldn’t put it down. Ms Olson tells about momentous historical events in the most human way. You get to know the key figures on a personal level, including their strengths and weaknesses. Dennis Kleinman’s narration is wonderful!

Mind What Ypu Loves
Revisado: 06-22-24
A rich narrative of complex people whose stories overlap. Life is not simple; it is complicated, sad, unfair, funny, serendipitous, hard, lonely, and punctuated by moments of joy and undercurrents of sincere love. I look forward
to reading more about these wonderful characters.

Intelligent, amusing, and touching
Revisado: 04-04-24
I read so many murder mystery books. This was a real treat. Refreshing characters, storylines, setting, and tone. So funny - in unexpected and subtle ways - I laughed out loud a lot. Lesley Manville’s interpretation is pitch-perfect. Can’t wait for more of these!

Good mystery in authentic Skye setting
Revisado: 02-29-24
The Protagonist DI Duncan McAdam is complex and interesting. The book made me feel I got a real feel for what it’s like to live on Skye. Good story that kept me guessing. I look forward to continuing this series. And of course, Angus King’s narration is masterful - as always!
