Historia
Sixteen year-old Katya Spivak is out for a walk on the gracious streets of Bayhead Harbor with her two summer babysitting charges when she's approached by silver-haired, elegant Marcus Kidder. At first, his interest in her seems harmless, even pleasant, like his name - a sort of gentle joke. His beautiful home, the children's books that he's written, his classical music, the marvelous art in his study, his lavish presents to her. But by degrees, almost imperceptibly, something changes.

a glorification of pedophilia
Revisado: 09-21-22
This was a disgusting glorification of grooming, sexual abuse, pedophilia, and Stockholm syndrome. An old man repeatedly forces a young teenage girl into sexual situations and acts all the while paying her without any consequences to his actions. A horrible book and putrid waste of time.

Historia
In an air-conditioned university office, a man lies dead, brutally bludgeoned. A hundred miles away, in the high, arid New Mexico mountain country that Sheriff Cliff Lansing is sworn to protect, an animal is devastating ranchers' livestock, and is now turning to human prey.... For Lansing, the two cases are linked. The murder victim was part of an archaeological dig, and a local Indian believes that the animal killings have been unleashed by the excavations.

good story, poor narration
Revisado: 08-22-22
Narrator was bad. he had almost no inflection in his voice for the most dramatic parts of the story. his pronunciation of Spanish words was awful.

book ended without a single story being finished
Revisado: 09-12-20
there were so many great and complex stories within the book and it abruptly ended without any resolution.
