Love the series, Assad and Karl have amazing dialog, both being funny in the right places, and touching when right too. Series continues, so will I.

Nesbo, the king of crime fiction
Revisado: 05-03-19
Would be 5 stars all the way, no is 5 stars all the way. Read the hard copy long ago, loved it, listened to the audio, loved it. If you like gritty crime, Nesbo is for you. Both this and the Bat are less polished than the following books, but reading all of them is a must ( and in sequence is ideal).

Real story to beautifully
Revisado: 05-03-19
John Irving only writes good books (as far as I can see). His style is true story telling. Characters, time and plot all woven together into a simple, yet compelling tale. Loved this book. Still not quite as good as Garp, but not many can be. Can only recommend John Irving!!!

Wasn't aware it's a YA book, but still pretty good
Revisado: 05-01-19
After around an hour I decided to read up on this book (normally I like not knowing, and enjoy the ride), I was not surprised to find out it was YA. This aside, the story is a good one, maybe a bit tame, but engaging and entertaining. Clearly the book is the start of a series, and in time I will listen to another.

On a sullen, cloudy July day ten years since 7/7, the happy, confident and optimistic British Prime Minister is visiting a charity in East London. This is a radio production rather than an audiobook. This might work for some, but I found it too much. Story was ok, but with no character background, feeling or advancement.

The second book in the series, and another whopping 45+ hours worth. I am not a fantasy fan (I think), but these books are amazing, and well worth the time invested. I have now purchased the Mistborne series on the strength of this series. Only hope it does not take a further 14 years to complete the series. For anyone not sure about this genre, or series, I say just go for it. A credit for 48 hours of quality.

Not quite what I was expecting
Revisado: 09-27-18
This is as much of a history lesson as a novel. Most of te history parts were nothing new or special to me. Some of the Dutch and American part perhaps, but the English history not so. The story did eventually pick up, but not enough to leave me wanting to jump into the following book. I really enjoyed Reamde, and was hoping for a large story like that. Apart from the maritime parts to this book, it was too slow ( for me)

A good entry into Harlen Coben's library
Revisado: 09-27-18
This is my first of the authors books, and I enjoyed it. Well paced, good characters, decent plot. What more can you ask for. The narration has just right too. I will dip my toe into another of his books at some time. This genre is pretty full with good authors, and I feel Harlen Coben is up with better ones

Historia
In The Keeper of Lost Causes, Jussi Adler-Olsen introduced Detective Carl Mørck, a deeply flawed, brilliant detective newly assigned to run Department Q, the home of Copenhagen’s coldest cases. The result wasn’t what Mørck - or readers - expected, but by the opening of Adler-Olsen’s shocking, fast-paced follow-up, Mørck is satisfied with the notion of picking up long-cold leads. So he’s naturally intrigued when a closed case lands on his desk: A brother and sister were brutally murdered two decades earlier....

2nd Dept Q book lives up to my expectations
Revisado: 08-07-18
I am a fan of Scandi crime novels, and when I start one I am hoping for great things. Not all can deliver. For me Nesbo is king, the late great Stieg Larson is not far behind. Jussi Adler-Olsen is right up there. Maybe not as gritty and dark as Nesbo, or as socially critical as Larson, but as complexed with a tinge of the dark gritty nastiness of society, and with humor. None of the other greats pull of the humor like Jussi, and still he maintains the tautness of the plot.
Worth a credit 100%

Fun in Delhi with Detective Puri
Revisado: 08-07-18
I always enjoy these soft detective stories set in different settings. I read a lot of hard boiled Scandi, US and UK crime detectives and need to mix it up a bit. Tarquin Hall is a fun listen, humorous, with the feel of India. I recommend Tarquin Hall to all who love the Colin Cotterill/Alezander Mcall Smith books
