Historia
One afternoon - after another failed attempt to get motivated to exercise - I (accidentally) started my first mini habit. I initially committed to do one push-up, and it turned into a full workout. I was shocked. This "stupid idea" wasn't supposed to work. I was shocked again when my success with this strategy continued for months (and to this day). I had to consider that maybe I wasn't the problem in those 10 years of mediocre results. Maybe it was my prior strategies that were ineffective, despite being oft-repeated as "the way to change" in countless books.

What a Great Book
Revisado: 02-24-24
I went to read How To Be An Imperfectionist and it suggested to read this one first. I'm so glad I did! I used to do this and didn't even realize it. When I went through some big things life, everything fell through and I didn't know what had happened. I stopped just about everything good I was doing in my life that worked for me. Now I realize both what I had been doing to succeed previously, and how to do it again, but this time with purpose and intention. I am so excited and greatful.

Historia
While endings are a natural part of business and life, we often experience them with a sense of hesitation, sadness, resignation, or regret. But consultant, psychologist, and bestselling author Dr. Henry Cloud sees endings differently. He argues that our personal and professional lives can only improve to the degree that we can see endings as a necessary and strategic step to something better.

This Book Was Amazing
Revisado: 01-03-24
I really appreciated this book. I did all of the writing prompts and used it to go thrift my house. it also gave me great clarity on being raised in a hoarder home and what was actually going on. I suffer from chronic disorganization due to this and this book showed me that it is due to old rules I had to follow that don't even align with me. I would reccomend this to anyone, as it could help anyone manage their things.

Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

My therapist tried to get me to read this for 10 years. Why oh why did I not do it sooner...I guess everything is in its perfect timing. This book literally changed me. It will in affect change the life of my children and so on. I had to reread several chapters and show down to digest. It was full of so much wholesome content. It also got my partner thinking. I recommend this to anyone and everyone.
