Historia
"Who am I becoming?" That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So, he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life." It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was - and continues to be - the answer he needs. Within this audiobook, you’ll find a fascinating road map to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

Historia
Like Kelly Kapoor on The Office, Mindy is engaged with her Indian heritage to the extent that it is fun and convenient. So apart from a tolerance for spicy foods and an appreciation for Ravi Shankar, Mindy isn’t all that Hindu. Her daughter’s Jewish godfather--TV and film’s B.J. Novak--prompts her to reconsider her religious beliefs and ask herself: How Indian do I want my daughter to be?

Mindy shares a Hindu experience which was unknown to me. Her thought process of moving forward with a tradition for young children was presented with humor and respect. Kept my attention to the end and a smile on my face visualizing the experience.

Recently I have been clearing out unneeded information on my iPhone. Old contacts, useless reminders, outdated notes, needless documents, emails and photos. I’m feeling like I can breathe again. I’m wanting to do the same thing with my life and write down all the stuff I’m involved in and be praying about to eliminate – not that it’s bad, just taking up space. I’m going for ‘Undistracted for 500’. Excited for the journey and where it will take me. Next step first. Great motivational book with idles of stories. Thanks for an update on those stories at the end. I was smiling as I was listening to them.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Revisado: 07-07-22
What a captivating summer listen. Ready to see the opening movie in 6 days. Delia Owens is so gifted with her writing. I was 100% present with the entire book. Can’t even imagine marsh life. An inspiration of pushing through circumstances, releasing judgements and opinions and developing the person within. Cassandra Campbell did a great job narrating.

Historia
From neuroscientist and New York Times bestselling author of Still Alice comes a powerful and heartbreaking exploration of regret, forgiveness, freedom, and what it means to be alive.
An accomplished concert pianist, Richard received standing ovations from audiences all over the world in awe of his rare combination of emotional resonance and flawless technique. Every finger of his hands was a finely calibrated instrument, dancing across the keys and striking each note with exacting precision. That was eight months ago.
Richard now has ALS, and his entire right arm is paralyzed. His fingers are impotent, still, devoid of possibility. The loss of his hand feels like a death, a loss of true love, a divorce—his divorce.
He knows his left arm will go next.
Three years ago, Karina removed their framed wedding picture from the living room wall and hung a mirror there instead. But she still hasn’t moved on. Karina is paralyzed by excuses and fear, stuck in an unfulfilling life as a piano teacher, afraid to pursue the path she abandoned as a young woman, blaming Richard and their failed marriage for all of it.
When Richard becomes increasingly paralyzed and is no longer able to live on his own, Karina becomes his reluctant caretaker. As Richard’s muscles, voice, and breath fade, both he and Karina try to reconcile their past before it’s too late.
Poignant and powerful, Every Note Played is a masterful exploration of redemption and what it means to find peace inside of forgiveness.

An in-depth insight into the journey of ALS is written with compassion and awareness of the path one travels with this relentless disease. The reader is exposed to the depth of the progressive, degenerative process the body experiences and the wearisome, exhaustive effects on the Caregivers. Bless Patients and Families on this road and to Lisa Genova for the gift of love she poured into this project.

Still Me?
Revisado: 01-31-15
And incredibly written story that hits way too close to each of the chambers of my heart. I always thought it would be cardiac or breast cancer related but now you have brought a whole new possibility or opportunity for the grand exit. How much of the last scene is directed? Did the overall message come through words and emotions? Then you have reached success. Still Me.
