Engaging Story
Revisado: 02-09-17
What did you love best about The Secret Life of Bees?
I love the way Jenna Lamia narrates a story! Sue Monk Kidd writes in a way that puts the listener into the story and makes one feel like you are talking with the characters yourself! I would sit in my car in my driveway just to continue listening to parts of the story.

It's Finally Over
Revisado: 02-09-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I listen to books while I commute to and from work......ALWAYS time well spent.
What does Georgia Maguire bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her voice was very believable - and easy to listen to.
Could you see Behind Closed Doors being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Probably - and it would be better as a two-hour movie instead of 8-hour book.
Any additional comments?
This story was so depressing and the entire time I was listening to it, I was thinking "Why am I listening to this - it's just sucking the life right out of me!" But, I couldn't stop. By the end of the book I was glad I had finished it. Much to think about here.

Stella's mama never should've put Stella on the church prayer list. With Stella's 27th birthday coming up fast, Nancy desperately wants to see her daughter married and giving her grandbabies. Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Can't believe I wasted time on this book
Revisado: 09-21-16
Would you try another book from Gillian Flynn and/or Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ?
I love Julia Whelan as a narrator!
What could Gillian Flynn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I expected a twist at the end, not the total let down, horrible ending. And entire book about two people who make horrible decisions and treat others badly. I can turn on any news cast on any given day and see that.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The narrators were the only redeeming qualities, they made the awful characters come to life.

Historia
Reeling from a broken engagement, adopted 19-year-old Menina Walker flees to Spain to bury her misery by writing her overdue college thesis - and soon finds herself on an unexpected journey into the past. The subject of her study is Tristan Mendoza, an obscure 16th-century artist whose signature includes a tiny swallow - the same swallow depicted on a medal that is Menina’s only link to her birth family. Hoping her research will reveal the swallow’s significance and clue her in to her origins, Menina discovers the ancient chronicle of a Spanish convent containing the stories of five orphaned girls hidden from the Spanish Inquisition.

Revisado: 11-02-15
Would you consider the audio edition of The Sisterhood to be better than the print version?
This story kept my attention, and was so entertaining that I will read it again. The reader is occasionally hard to understand because of her accent, however, her accept added to the overall experience of this story.

Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Historia
In the grand storytelling style that is his signature, James Michener sweeps us back through time to the very beginnings of the Jewish faith, thousands of years ago. Through the predecessors of four modern men and women, we experience the entire colorful history of the Jews, including the life of the early Hebrews and their persecutions, the impact of Christianity, the Crusades, and the Spanish Inquisition, all the way to the founding of present-day Israel and the Middle East conflict.

Terrible story, terrible reader.
Revisado: 11-02-15
What would have made The Source better?
I honestly can't think of anything that would make it better. The first time I read this story I enjoyed it, but I skipped a lot of pages.....Michener, you know. But actually hearing this story was depressing and a complete waste of time. What was I thinking 20 years ago when I liked it? The reader also has a terribly BORING voice.

Historia
Everyone in Bell Harbor thinks career-minded plastic surgeon Evelyn Rhoades needs a husband. Everyone, that is, except for Evelyn…sort of. Even if she did want a husband (which she doesn’t…most of the time), she’d never let something as intangible as fate determine who she marries. No, if she’s going to find someone to spend her life with, she’ll do it scientifically: With a carefully crafted list of criteria and an Internet dating site. But when intoxicated, law-breaking Tyler Connelly crashes into her life by way of a stolen Jet Ski, unruly emotions defy common sense.
