The galaxy is burning. The Emperor's loyal primarchs prepare to do battle with Warmaster Horus and his turncoat Legions on the black sand of Isstvan. Such dark times herald new and yet more terrible things still to come, and when Astropath Kai Zulane unwittingly learns a secret that threatens to tip the balance of the war, he is forced to flee for his life. Alongside a mysterious band of renegades, he plunges into the deadly underworld of Terra itself, hunted like a criminal by those he once trusted.

Old 40k for the win!
Revisado: 05-08-24
No twisting of the lore to fit a "New Age Paradigm". Great Story I loved every grim dark step. Next series should be the what every surviving Primarch did after this. Specifically the Hunt after the Traitors that drives them screaming back into the Eye.

The Inner Walls are breached. Traitor vanguards tear towards the heart of the Palace, sensing victory. Desperate gambits are attempted: an unwilling saint is released into the ruins, as well as an enthusiastic sinner. A black sword rises, forged from spite, ready to create a legend. But amid the slaughter, Jaghatai Khan, Warhawk of Chogoris, prepares to launch the most audacious strike of the conflict. His goal is nothing less than the liberation of the Lion's Gate space port.

These writers are the reason we love 40k.
Revisado: 11-19-22
Please tell me that these writers will be employed to tell us about the push of the traitors back into the eye, about the old war and the old ones, there is so much there to flesh out.
For the love of the Omnissiah please stop giving money to your "New Age", "Mid Dark" writers they (Rob Gully latest bland adventures) , as is your (like Disneys) attempt to make something for everyone is Aberrant Trash. The moves of GW of the last 7 to 8 years are precisely why Star wars, Apple, GM and countless other corporations are dying. Dying from the inside out because No one has passion for the Product anymore. Same reason as well too many Marketing peeps not enough gruff, honest, rarely on time CREATIVES on their board.
Take all your Corporate Drone Basura, your Marketeering Blinding Synergy and just Stop. Hire people you don't understand who have that scary amount of passion for the lore. Let them helm the stories and art stay in your starbucks, panera smelling offices and pat yourselves on the back as you ride theirs (actual creatives)into being ungodly rich. Thank you for not sucking the soul out of the universe of bright imagination you now helm.
Take Luck.

Exile to the miserable world of Sedh, the disgraced Necron Lord Oltyx is consumed with bitterness. Once heir to the throne of a dynasty, he now commands nothing but a dwindling garrison of warriors, in a never-ending struggle against Ork invaders. Oltyx can think of nothing but the prospect of vengeance against his betrayers, and the reclamation of his birthright. But the Orks are merely the harbingers of a truly unstoppable force. Unless Oltyx acts to save his dynasty, revenge will win him only ashes.

good story. I enjoy the hero/anti hero necron tale
Revisado: 10-27-21
Oedipus Rexish feel. Think Osiris and Hosiris one eye in the past, two eye towards the future. I feel as if some one in GW is making the authors condense their stories leaving out fine details that might have given the tale more description. The concepts and scale are still very Necron which deserves more explanation to the rest of us non undead players. I very much enjoyed this book. I will be looking for a second installment with relish. I wish GW would allow the writers to start to delve into the war in heaven. It would give context and weight to the characters who know what happened at the engagements which formed them.

Attached to Crusade Fleet Quintus - dubbed the Cursed Fleet by many - the Ultramarines of the Ithraca’s Vengeance are drawn to a stricken world. With millions enslaved, a malign necron technology siphons the souls of the innocent and heralds the Silent Kingdom’s expansion. The Ultramarines face an impossible decision: mount a desperate last stand to destroy the Pariah Nexus, or break away and damn the entire sector to bring word of this ancient foe’s resurgence to the only being capable of halting it - the Lord Primarch Roboute Guilliman.

good but could have been longer.
Revisado: 05-12-21
Fun story. Ultra marines they only play in one key. The Necrons back story between the characters could and should have been more fleshed out. That alone would have made the story more understandable. At least in regards to the antipathy between the two zenos commanders

Historia
Kept alive and imprisoned for 10 thousand years, Luther is the curse and the salvation of the Dark Angels made manifest. None are so close to the heart and history of the Chapter as the man that embodies all that was great about the First Legion and all that is shameful about the Dark Angels. In his story is writ the tale of the Horus Heresy and the fall from Enlightenment in a single long life. Glory, honour, pride, shame and betrayal weave a tapestry of truth and lies that the Supreme Grand Masters of the Dark Angels have sought to understand and unbind across 10 bloody millennia.

Historia
Legends abound of the glorious - or infamous - deeds of the emperor's sons. Yet almost nothing is known of Alpharius, the most mysterious of them all, for the lord of the Alpha Legion is unparalleled in the art of obfuscation. Such are his gifts of secrecy and deceit that even his rediscovery has remained an enigma - until now. But when the tale comes from the serpent’s mouth, where do the lies end and the truth begin?

Revisado: 04-22-21
lame saucerita. scant pieces of lore. not worth buying. I was honestly bored but hopeful until the epilogue. Then I was just disappointed. All the other Primarch stories have a story this one is just a smattering of recollections most of them boring. Alphareus is just a clinical robot with no real character. Just a cash grab a poorly put together tale. if I could I would rather have had the mystery instead of the sad truth of the blandness of this story.

The action was non stop. Excellent story from the mechanicum, orks, and another faction... I will soon re listen to this story in a few weeks. I love these longer stories that stay true to the lore and have no "progressive" brainwashing to confuse the story.

a collection of samples half of them are from low tier writers. the other half that have length passion and plot worth delving into one would be better served just buying the book. At least a third are from books I have already enjoyed. not worth it for me.

The galaxy is in flames. Chaos is in the ascendant across the stars. The Great Rift has split the holdings of the Imperium in twain, isolating entire sectors from the light of Holy Terra. But all hope is not lost. The Primarch Roboute Guilliman has returned from deathless sleep and appointed Commander Dante, lord of the Blood Angels, as Regent and Warden of the newly dubbed Imperium Nihilus. In the Baal system, the shattered holding of the Chapter is being rebuilt, and Dante plans the greatest campaign of his long life, to retake half an empire.
