Fantastic! Better than book 1 which was already great! Lots of great conclusions, but also some exciting things to look forward to. Eager for book 3!

Solid continuation of the series

Some of the other reviews for this book are too harsh. This Book #5 in the series continues to progress the main character. Yes, he works through injuries and sickness, but it is done in an interesting way with a good amount of fight scenes and adventuring taking place. New treasures are discovered and there are hints of romance. Towards the end of the book the action ramps up and then everything comes to a satisfying conclusion, while leaving room for further growth in books to come. I liked it. I look forward to Book #6.

Good LitRPG

A nice take on the LitRPG genre with the focus on a non typical class - occultist. Unlike most LitRPGs it has a decent bit out out of game / real life story throughout the whole book. It turned out decent and I will check out the next book.

Good performance, bad book

I like the different narrators, music, and sound effects. The actual book though is pretty bad. It is a typical Lit RPG the world is doomed, escape into VR setup. So generic and made worse by the excessive swearing, vulgarity, and the author's clear dislike of society. I couldn't finish this it was so bad.

Original and humurous LitRPG

This was a very enjoyable first entry in a trilogy. The 21 hour length was well used and I didn’t feel like it was dragging on. It was nice to see a variety of non-typical races, classes, and game systems. Not excessively violent or bloody. This book covers 4-5? days of time from game start and a lot happens in that short period. I am definitely looking forward to the next book and hope that this series / world /universe continues beyond the trilogy as well! Also, it was a great choice to have Travis Baldree be the narrator.

Too long

The main story is decent. Some light lit RPG + growth in a school setting focused on battles. However the book is far too long. It gets boring as you just get repetitive training and fights which summarizes the whole book. Moreover the fights are all in the simulated arenas so nothing is at risk. Towards the end of the book I just listened to it a 2.0X speed to just get it over with. I have no plans to get the next in the series.

Very mediocre

This is an okay cultivation novel. Nothing too amazing. It felt like it could be half the length and still fine. The author seems to like describing blood guts, dismemberment and gore a lot which I could do without. I recommend Condemning the Heavens as a much better series. I won't be continuing this series, but I did get to book 8 of Condemning the Heavens.

The Story Continues

The main character and his friends continue to travel. They depart Yan Dalu and make their way to the Demon Phoenix continent with a couple of major and exciting stops along the way. Once they get there most of the time is spent exploring a new realm and obtaining treasures within. After they return the main character’s current main goal is accomplished and so book 8 concludes nicely. I hope books 9-10 are made available soon! This is a very entertaining series.

A great continuation of this series!

The main characters spend some time powering up and engage in underground arena battles. More is revealed about the main character’s background and he gets some more tools to help him excel. A new character joins the main party and they travel about, taking care of unfinished business. Then the party travels to a new continent where adventure awaits! An academy joined. Merit points are earned. Mystery introduced. Alliances formed. A new side character added to the party. And the mystery solved.
