So well read!
Revisado: 03-07-24
This book was a joy to listen to. It was read with incredible skill… truly acted/performed more than just read. While the story was one as old as time, it was told in a compelling way, the few twists to the story feeling real, and in no way contrived. I grew to love the characters— who were vivid, flawed, and real—and felt sadness at the end of the book because I would no longer get to spend time with them. 10/10 whole heartedly recommend.

Ajax Dartham, the Duke of Jarrell, has a problem. And that problem is his future niece-in-law. When the clever and capable Lady Eleanor Vane—understandably—runs off into the night rather than marry his horrible nephew, the Duke has a choice.

Well read and well written
Revisado: 02-15-24
After having listened to the New Camelot series, which were quite spicy and enjoyable enough, I must say that The Chasing of Eleanore Vane surpassed all expectations for the following reasons: 1) The prose is much more elegant— I appreciated not being beaten over the head with sentences dumbed down to a 5th grade reading level. 2) The narration was really lovely— it wasn’t painful to listen to, unlike the unbearable Guy Locke. 3) The bedroom scenes were spicy without brutality— the very subtle power play was exciting and more was left to the imagination. I’d definitely recommend this, especially to anyone looking for something softer and sweeter.

Historia
It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires...and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire. My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

Spicy, but lacking in literary sophistication
Revisado: 01-16-24
I’m late to the party where smut is concerned… this is actually the first smutty book I’ve read. Ngl, I enjoyed it quite a bit 😉. I wasn’t expecting great literature, but the writing leaves something to be desired here. Spicy, most definitely, but well crafted this prose is not. I regret nothing, it was a fun listen, but I’m pretty sure this was written to a 6th grade comprehension level. At times the poor writing really distracted from the important bits, which was unfortunate.

Well read, very engaging

This novel is like a mashup of all the best parts of British fantasy. It’s like Terry Pratchett + Neil Gaiman (yes, I already know that’s a thing) + BBC mystery series all rolled into one fantastic story. The narration is also most excellent. I can’t wait to continue on and listen to the rest of the series!

Nyx and Zero will face kidnappers, pirates, shipwrecks, warlords, dragons, and maybe a new ally or two on their way to save the day once again.

Epic, magical, beautifully read

This was an utter joy to listen to, for story and performance! This feminine perspective and telling of the Mahabharata was compelling to the last word. I would say that some small knowledge of Indian philosophy and Sanskrit terms helps in the listening, but the story would still shine without.
