Love in Rhythm & Blues 💕

As usual, Love Belvin crafts a world filled with intrigue, redemption, and deeply flawed yet relatable characters. Wynter is, hands down, one of my favorite female leads from Love. Her resilience and selflessness make her stand out, especially in a world that takes from her endlessly while giving very little in return. Despite the curveballs life throws at her—particularly when she’s thrust into Ragee’s chaotic world—Wynter adapts and finds the strength to pivot. It could be her biggest strength or her greatest downfall.

Ragee is a mega superstar burdened by childhood trauma, haunted by his past, and reticent to let new people into his life. His complex persona only adds to the intrigue. When Wynter and Ragee agree to their arrangement , Wynter's selflessness starts to chip away at Ragee’s walls, slowly illuminating the darkness that surrounds him.

The performances by Zakiya and Myles Washington are flawless, delivering every emotion with authenticity and depth, making this audiobook an immersive and unforgettable experience. ✨Highly recommend✨

Love in the Redzone 💕🏈

I was so excited to see one of my favorite book series by one of my favorite authors coming to audio and was not disappointed. The narration was on point and flowed beautifully. I love Winston James and Elyce Anthony as narrators, so having them voice Trent and Jade was an absolute pleasure.

This is a story of redemption, growth, and insta-love. Jade and Trent had a lot of learning and growing to do when it came to trusting someone with the most vulnerable parts of themselves. From difficult family dynamics to interference from the media and ex-lovers, they had a lot stacked against them. It's refreshing to see a love story that doesn't shy away from depicting the ups and downs of a relationship: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Highly recommended.

A Story for a Very Specific Audience…

I’ll start by saying I love plenty of this author’s other works, this just didn’t sit right with me. The narration was probably my favorite part of this book. It made the story slightly more palatable, but I don’t enjoy stories with this much messiness & inconsistency. MMC’s with no regard for their partners or women in general. FMC’s who are just…yikes.

I guess you could say the morale of the story is there are consequences to every decision you make. If you chose unwisely, the fall out could be dire.

One Night to Eternity…💕

A compelling storyline that flows nicely with excellent character development. The contrast between the two family dynamics gives great insight into the ways in which Indigo and Silas approached life and relationships. The talented Trei Taylor and Winston James' narration was on point, as always. Can’t wait to get into book two.

This was a unique spin on the one-night stand trope, and I loved it! Silas was a terminal bachelor with no interest in being tied down but a keen interest in his beautiful housekeeper. Indigo had a serious crush on Silas but was about her business and couldn’t care less about a relationship with Silas after she got what she wanted. Consequently, they both got more than they bargained for after one night of heated passion. ✨Highly Recommened✨

Law was the definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” He had his flaws, but he had his reasons. Zori was his perfect fit as his publicist and partner. Smart, strong, no nonsense, loyal, & loving. He didn’t want no smoke with that woman! lol I loved their resilience through all the obstacles set before them. Beautifully written & engaging to the end. ✨Highly recommended ✨

Real Life Rhythm & Blues💕

Kendrix and Ayla 🥰 Swoon! D. Rose never disappoints. The vibes personified rhythm and blues. Feel the chemistry, feel the angst, feel the love. They both had their flaws & challenges, but they did the work to get to where they needed to be. ✨Highly recommended✨ P.S. the vocal performances were awesome! Two of my favorite narrators 👌🏾

When you choose not to deal with the past, it won’t hesitate to deal with you.

This one really had me in my feelings, in the best way. Chandler and Moses’ journey was a great depiction of the enduring nature of love. Their journey wasn’t perfect, but it was the exact path they needed to take to grow individually & together. ✨Highly recommended ✨

Genuine Love & Faith

When Carlotta hit us with the bell hooks quote at the start, I knew I’d be hooked. More than the elements of genuine love, the author gave readers a view of Black women working in STEM, the challenges they encounter while trying to change the world and balance their personal desires (including the part that social media can play in derailing those goals), and family & faith dynamics. Monet and Reese’s growth as individuals and as a unit personify what the journey to real, genuine love for self and others should be. Excellent read!
