Okay but What a draggggg, I wanted to love it.
Revisado: 03-01-25
This could have been a good story but the author dragged the relationship climax too long. Smh sooo annoying.

Historia
Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows. Genevieve rose from the ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son. When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school.

One of the best
Revisado: 07-31-24
I’ve read at least 10 books by this Kristan Higgins. Most of them are just a mushy love story where you can tell how it will end, which i like lol. This book has much more depth. I laughed and cried. Very Good!

Good but I feel lile something was missing.
Revisado: 05-27-24
I like Shaunie and I wanted to love her book but i just feel like something’s were missing and you get the feeling that she’s trying to convince you about who she is as oppose to just telling the story. She completely left out her oldest son’s father and that relationship. She goes from being a high school student and then says I’m a working, single mom. Over all the book was good and I wish her well!

Historia
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

Good but soooo much
Revisado: 04-16-24
Well the over story is good but anxiety producing. The main character’s anxiety and internal dialogue is repetitive and exhausting at times. However the story is cute and funny and thought provoking. I would recommend it.

Good
Revisado: 03-06-23
A very good story, I’m sure it will be turned into a movie. I liked the characters, the storyline and how the used the importance of therapy.
But…
Too many adjectives and too much narrative dialogue in between the story line, if that makes sense and a couple of hours too long.
Overall Good would read again.

Then she discovered her husband had been beaten as a child, taught by his parents that intimacy and rage danced together.

Good Story
Revisado: 02-28-23
Its does have a couple of racially offputting statements and the air of white privilege but over all the message is clear, that Domestic Violence can effect anyone and that unhealed trauma manifests in one way or another.
