informative & thrilling

I love how the author gives details about human trafficking and the twist in the story is unexpected at the end. I also love how the author incorporates some Bible passages and information about God to its readers and always relates to the story. the narrators were fabulous and did a great job bringing the story to life

Historia
The campaign of destruction that Axel Soledad and Dallas Cates wreaked on Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett left both men in tatters, especially Nate, who lost almost everything. Wondering if the civilized life left him vulnerable to attack, Nate dropped off the grid with his falcons in tow to prepare for vengeance. When Joe gets a call from the governor asking for help finding his son-in-law, who has gone missing in the Sierra Madre mountain range, he enlists the help of a local, a rookie game warden named Susan Kany.

The player has met his match.... Hunt Cade likes women. All women. Life is good as long as he's got his boat, the steady line of beautiful women entering his resort, and cold beer nights with his brothers. Until a new kid enters Club Tahoe's children's program and reminds Hunt what it was like to grow up without a father. Not to mention, the effect the kid’s mother has on him. The last time Hunt got involved with someone he shouldn’t have, it nearly ruined his relationship with his brothers, the only family he has left.

this is the first book that I've listened to by this author and I just loved it. it's written and narrated well and you feel like you're part of the story.
nice that the struggle of a single mom had a nice ending and that her new husband could help her navigate the problems of having interfering grandparents. it's a great story I'll have to listen to the other Cade brother's books

If there's been a theme in Justine Meade's life, it's loss. Her mother, her home, even her son. The one bright spot in her loss-filled life, the partner she could always count on, was Mack, her grey and black Sheltie – that is, until she is summoned back to her childhood home after more than twenty years away. Ed and Alice Parmalee are mourning a loss of their own. Seven years after their daughter was taken from them, they're living separate lives together. Dancing around each other, and their unspeakable heartbreak, unable to bridge the chasm left between them.

well written and narrated. you can just feel the characters pain at losing the dog and the dog being left behind by the stinking trucker doesn't care. and that there are still Good Samaritans out there in the world it will only take care of your dog but help you find him again. people are basically good and trusting in that helps in times like this.

love the story
Revisado: 02-03-25
this was the first book that I've listened to from this author and of course the narrators really bring it to life. it's easy to get into the story right from the beginning and it doesn't leave you hanging in the end there's actual closure so that you know everything worked out the way it was supposed to. I'll definitely look for more books by this author

somewhat predictable
Revisado: 01-09-25
I really like this author's books but she waits too long to release each new segment in the series and the reader forgets what happened in the former one and she doesn't go over it in the beginning with a little summary of what happened in the past.

depressing book
Revisado: 12-20-24
I usually like this author's books but this one is not so great it's extremely depressing because it hangs so much on the fact that this one character can't get over the loss of her husband even though he died 2 years ago she can't move on with her life and this is such a short book and there's nothing that's really up beat I found about it.
I was very disappointed and the narrator was awful she was very monotone and reading the story
