Awful Narration
Revisado: 04-15-24
The narrator’s whistling S made this almost impossible to listen to. The story itself was decent.

Historia
Past midnight, Chyna Shepard, twenty-six, gazes out a moonlit window, unable to sleep on her first night in the Napa Valley home of her best friend’s family. Instinct proves reliable. A murderous sociopath, Edgler Foreman Vess, has entered the house, intent on killing everyone inside. A self-proclaimed “homicidal adventurer,” Vess lives only to satisfy all appetites as they arise, to immerse himself in sensation, to live without fear, remorse, or limits, to live with intensity. Chyna is trapped in his deadly orbit.

Verbose story, monotone narrator
Revisado: 10-12-23
Too often I felt like the story was unnecessarily detailed, and I often couldn’t tell the characters apart.

Historia
Is there a science to love? In this groundbreaking audiobook, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Amir Levine and psychologist Rachel S. F. Heller reveal how an understanding of attachment theory - the most advanced relationship science in existence today - can help us find and sustain love. Attachment theory forms the basis for many best-selling books on the parent/child relationship, but there has yet to be an accessible guide to what this fascinating science has to tell us about adult romantic relationships - until now.

Horrible production
Revisado: 12-13-17
I really enjoyed the story itself, but the sound effects and music are completely unnecessary. The last 30 minutes is only sound effects/music, and don’t understand how that filler is allowable by Audible when it’s communicated as an hour audiobook.

Based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

Interesting, though written favorably for Jobs
Revisado: 11-01-13
What made the experience of listening to Steve Jobs the most enjoyable?
I really enjoyed learning about his background, thought process, and perspective as he took us through the certain events of his life.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I felt like the narrator had a campy presentation. I felt like his manner of speaking didn't at all meld with how it was written.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Nothing really, though if I had to pick something it may be how he went through the period of time when he knew life was short. I think that's a scary time for anyone, and to see how one reacts and compare that to how you think you would react is a scary place to be.
Any additional comments?
I did feel as though the author was particularly harsh of others that Jobs had a negative thought on. Walter seemed to search and enhance certain events to make it more favorable for Steve Jobs.
