Historia
An eclipse is supposed to be a wondrous event. Not the end of freedom for humanity. For Maggie, they’re one and the same. In only a few days, the collectives will coalesce, and the forced assimilation of humanity will begin. Maggie and the team need to find a way to stop it, but they don’t know where to start. While Maggie fights for knowledge, the rest of the team faces challenges of their own. Loyalties will be tested, obscure memories will break through, and betrayal may kill the only chance they have to remain free.

Great series! 4.5 stars.
Revisado: 01-17-21
This review is for the audiobook series. I really love the series and the characters which are fully developed and have their own voices. The author really makes you care about them and their plight. It's full of action which kept me listening long after bedtime. I highly recommend the books. While the narrator did a good job of making the voices clearly recognizable, I was often put off by the over-the-top performance. There were places this could have been taken down a notch or five. Would I still recommend it? Absolutely. 4.5 stars.

It began with a hallucination. A time loss. A mistake. A strange man reaching out to her. All part of a tourist trap, Maggie is sure, and she's lucky it wasn't worse. Yet something about her life changed that day, and she can't put her finger on what. She forces herself to move on but can never shake the inexplicable emptiness she feels.

Historia
Five months after the heartbreaking events on a Pacific island, Maggie waits for Marcus and the team to return. The Travelers who finally show up to collect her aren't who she expected. A snake-woman, an injured Traveler, and the complications of leap-frogging through decades of civil unrest all stand in her way. While Maggie fights her way back to Marcus, the collectives coalesce, power shifts, and the one called B puts sinister plans into action. If Maggie can’t stop him, her individuality - perhaps her very identity - will be ripped away before she can catch her breath.

Can be read as a standalone, but might be best to start at the beginning of the series
Revisado: 01-15-21
Honestly, from the title and even the description, I was expecting this to have some time-travel and futuristic type high-tech elements. It didn't, so I was somewhat disappointed. However, this thriller was pretty good with lots of action. At times it was intense which is what you expect from a thriller. I liked the characters, but the dialogue at times felt a little stilted.
When I listen to audiobooks, I really like to have the characters come to life with their own voices. I much prefer that than just having a book read to me. In this case, there was some differentiation between male voices, but females didn't get their own voice. So, I can't say it was an exceptionally enjoyable listen, but it was okay.
Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars. While it definitely can be read as a standalone, my expectations may have been different had I started at the beginning.

Historia
I had three loves in my life: my daddy, him what my mama killed in cold blood; my son Henry, God rest him; and tall as an oak Riley Treadwell. I lost all of 'em, one way or t'other, 'til Riley showed up on my stoop with a monster problem and tried to wiggle his way back into my life. Only, weren't no monster bothering him; was the one bothering his ex-girlfriend what'd stirred up a hornet's nest out on Lake Burton amongst the muckity mucks. Weren't no never mind to me, see?

Enjoyable!
Revisado: 11-18-20
The narrator used such a strong accent, it was a little difficult to get into at first. However, it was perfect for the book, and I was soon lost in the story. The characters were very well developed and the story was entertaining. I loved the paranormal elements. There was a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. Can't wait to read the next!
I was given a free audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affected my review.

She doesn't know that magic even exists, much less that she is the descendant of one of the most powerful witches to have ever walked the earth. As far as she knows, she has classes to sign up for, parties to attend, and an overprotective father to avoid.

Revisado: 02-20-20
I listened to this night after night until I finished all 11 books and I cannot wait for the next book in the series! The narrator does a fantastic job with all the voices and emotions. The books are well-written with diverse, fully-developed characters. There's a ton of action and supernatural elements. I'd actually love to see this made into a TV series. Jo Ho is a new author to me. I first read/listened to her Chase Ryder series and moved on to this one fairly quickly. I'll definitely be purchasing more of her work.

Gothic Paranormal
Revisado: 02-15-20
Overall, the audiobook was entertaining. The narrator did a decent job, but it was sometimes difficult to distinguish who was speaking based on the voice alone. But, the book was written in such a way that it wasn't really an issue.
The main character was at times annoying - like when she wouldn't give information about being followed, etc. And, I never cared for Caleb. Maybe it was because there was no real relationship building done. There were also times, especially at the end where things seemed a little contrived and supernatural powers (not Quinn's) came from out of the blue.
But, it was an entertaining gothic read and I'm not sorry I listened to it. There were some good secondary character building and the tone was appropriate for the genre. If you like dark gothic novels, then give this one a try.
I can't remember if the author gave a trigger warning in the book description, but there are mentions of incest and rape; although there is no graphic description.

Historia
I'd been living on the streets for around eight months before I lost count. It wasn't easy, but it was still preferable to what I had to deal with at home. In all that time, unable to trust anyone, I had been alone (I knew from experience that people always failed you). Then one day, while out searching for food, I stumbled upon this mangy dog being attacked. It wasn't a big deal to help him, but then he ended up saving my life which is when I realized there was something special about him: Muttface wasn't a normal dog - he was crazy intelligent.

Great Read!
Revisado: 01-24-20
I really enjoyed this book. It was action-packed and full of adventure. I absolutely adored Bandit! In fact, all the characters were fully developed and I was happy to follow the character growth in Chase and Sully as they became family, learning to trust one another. While the narrator did a good job and made it an enjoyable listen, it was sometimes difficult to tell the character voices apart - especially the men - but with the excellent writing this was never an issue. I would definitely recommend this book.
I had already bought the eBook when I saw an option to listen to the book for free in exchange for an honest review. Since I love audiobooks, it was a no brainer. This in no way influenced my review.

The glow itself seemed to be alive, breathing, spreading under the baby’s skin. One question filled my mind: Who is this child? Tavi Malin is born facing the sun, filled with greater magic than any other sun-blessed child. When Tavi turns 14, her magic awakens. Her uncontrollable, destructive power frightens those around her - almost as much as it terrifies Tavi herself.

Couldn't Wait to Listen Every Night!
Revisado: 01-05-20
I received a free copy of this audiobook trilogy in exchange for an honest review. I was a little hesitant at first because authors don't always make the best narrators. But, I'm so glad I got it! The author does a really good job narrating the different voices and emotions. It was a pleasure to listen to. The story itself was entertaining, well-written, and full of wonderfully developed characters. I also like that Tavi is a flawed character. She isn't a supernatural that does everything right all the time. And, the reasons for her actions or inactions are drawn from her experiences and the way they've impacted her. While Tavi is a teen as are some of the other main characters, there are adult characters that also get to share their points of view. So, while it's young adult-friendly, I wouldn't say it's specifically a young adult book. But, that's my point of view. You may think differently. All in all, I really enjoyed the audiobook and recommend it. I'll be seeking out more from this author.

Would have been a five star story rating, except .
Revisado: 05-26-19
Enjoyed the series. It was entertaining and imaginative. I would have given it five stars (whole series) except that for some reason the author chose to copy the basic characters from another author. She's talented and her books are great, so I have no idea why she couldn't come up with her own cast of characters.
