“Fair warning. This story isn’t very believable. Most stories start with once upon a time. Mine? It’s more like once upon a boyband.”

Be still my ever loving boyband obsessed heart! From the dedication to the very first line to the very last page, my heart was completely captured by this Jenny Proctor book. What girl hasn’t dreamed about meeting her favorite singer? My journals, daydreams and every thought was filled with my crush as a teen and I can’t even imagine what it would be like to meet someone, fall onto the deep and serious path to love, only to find out he’s the love of my wildest dreams.

Laney is a vet and finds herself connected with Adam through dogs and his dog rescue. These two characters are everything and their journey is so poignant and intense, yet full of longing, hope, fulfillment, and healing. They are extremely well-written and vividly come to life and I could insert myself into Laney’s life quite easily, eagerly devouring every single bit. While light-hearted and sweet, there are some past traumas and regrets to sift through. But their chemistry and kisses? Phew, sizzling, yet sweet.

Not only did I buy myself a copy for my shelves, but I also used an audible credit to listen to these talented narrators. This story is satisfying on multiple levels and I loved the nods to other books/series by this author. You can bet I’ll snatch up the second book the minute I can.

Just like a summer breeze, Summer drifts into Nathan’s life and tosses everything he knows around. The resident grump on the Appies team is big, tough, and impenetrable, yet somehow, Summer flits through the cracks, spreading warmth and sunshine (and desire) everywhere. Who could resist that? I sure couldn’t especially when a fake relationship with all the sparks and zings of a mutual attraction comes into play.

Jenny Proctor does a phenomenal job of constructing big personalities, a team that’s more like a family, and lovable characters in this darling episode in the Appies series. I’m a huge fan and absolutely LOVED these narrators. They bring the banter, wit, and situations to life.

This is a book with so much to love–full of growth, charm, and swoon.

I discovered Jane Eyre in high school and it quickly became one of my favorite novels ever. I'm a big fan of Mimi Matthews and decided her gender flipped gothic tale would be the perfect read for spooky season. Not only is this a slight retelling of a beloved classic, but it has another dark tale retelling woven in that gave it a deliciously chilling twist.

I appreciated the dual timelines, even though they were such a short time apart. The reader is treating to a slowly unraveling mystery involving a former school master (who has found himself disgraced), two odd and quiet young boys, and a beautiful and mysterious widow. I couldn't wait to discover the twists and turns I knew I was in store for and I wasn't disappointed. I don't want to give anything away, but I was completely captivated by all of it.

This is the perfect read to satisfy a creepy need, especially in the month of October.

Content: mild romance; mild creep factors (nothing too gory or scary)

I love stories like this. The ones that are highly entertaining--full of drama, embarrassing moments, quirky characters, humor, and swoon. That said, I would DIE if my family was as crazy and dysfunctional as the Fletcher family is.

Cora's parents are celebrating their anniversary and invited (and paid for) the whole family, along with close family friends, to come along to Hawaii to celebrate. That right there is a recipe for disaster and it sure was. Cat fights, jealousy, recreations, and more lead to a lot of laughs and awkward moments, but there were also many sweet things to love.

I've mentioned before I'm a big believer in timing and Cora's childhood crush, Owen, is coming off a divorce, but now? There were big, sparkling sparks flicking between them--even with Cora's ex attending the events. I loved their connection and interactions, and the setting was divine. But I loved the family bonds and loyalty best of all. Sometimes family isn't just related by blood, but it's who is chosen and all the messy relationships were perfection when it really came down to it.

This is such a fun, lovable story!

What a brilliantly darling comedy of errors!

Elisabeth becomes a single mother when her baby is born after her husband's passing and when her best friend dies, leaving a baby behind, a marriage of convenience is arranged. Or is it? Charlotte, Elisabeth's younger sister, has a whole slew of suitors, but a tangled up love triangle (or would it be love square?) arises when unforeseen circumstances occur.

I couldn't get enough of these delightful characters. Elisabeth is more serious, as she has much to lose in life and now has an infant to care for. Her relationship with Charlotte, a happy, charming girl, isn't the best, but they truly are at different stages of life. The shy and stuttering German, Sebastian, is a great addition to the story, and doctor Charles is the icing on the cake.

Wecker does a great job of throwing in a ball of yarn and untangling it in a realistic and more true-to-times way, showing how hard life could be back in the Regency times. I love her writing style and pacing, as well as the character development, and exploration and discovery of feelings.

Beautifully written and executed, this is a story for an Regency romance lover.

Fantasy isn’t my go-to genre but I really enjoyed the magic and characters set in this mid-1840s. Such a fun and entertaining story!

dab of suspense and a dollop of love.

I love, love, love a marriage of convenience trope and this one captivated me. Wonderful characters and superb plot.

Mimi Matthews is a favorite because she pens such wonderful stories that reach into the far depths of my heart and the dark corners of my soul.

I just listened to the audiobook of this one and the narrator was incredible! Not only that, but I visited Salem not quite six months ago and this book touched me in a completely different way than I expected it to. I saw places where these trials were held; I walked the streets these people walked; I saw where they lived and worked. It hit me straight in the heart and I couldn't help but feel a bit heavy about the terrible things that happened to innocent people back in those times. This is a powerful story and Heather B. Moore does a brilliant job of keeping it alive.

I listened to the audio version of this book and loved it! I'm all about fake relationships and this book brings Erin and Braden back--but they're not together. In an effort to protect an collection, Erin has to portray a high society diva.

I hated that this couple had to pretend not to know one another, while she was "engaged" to another agent, but the twists and turns of this intriguing and dangerous tale made up for it.

Montpetit does a great job of keeping the pace fast and the romance swoony.

Content: mild romance; mild moments of danger/peril/fighting

An undercover assignment at a big Christmas party in the San Francisco area is the perfect setting for a fast-paced romantic suspense. I listened to this one on audio and loved the exciting narration.

Erin and Braden are working together in a sting operation and I loved the give and take of their interactions. While there is an obvious attraction, these two seem to always be at odds, fighting and arguing their way through this assignment, sending off sparks from all the angles.

The history of the Faberge eggs, combined with a fake relationship with plenty of danger and intrigue had me hooked from the first page to the last.

I would recommend this one to readers/listeners who love a clean romantic suspense.
