Интересно работает эта штука: Небесная бухгалтерия...Порою кажется, что твои жалобные вопли не достигают высоких инстанций. Однако... Период перед написанием романа Последний кабан из лесов Понтеведра" был у нас абсолютно, тотально безденежным. Сейчас даже плохо помню - как мы выкручивались со счетами, прокормом детей...Словом, ситуация, как говорил мой муж, была "совершенно достоевская". И вдруг мне предложили полставочки в Доме Культуры. Зарплата плевая, но выбирать не приходилось...Я ринулась исполнять обязанности массовика-затейника в группе русских пенсионеров. И под крышей Матнаса (того самого Дома Культуры) вдруг обнаружила - Сюжет. То есть, сюжет романа как-то сам собой сочинился, сложился, скрутился из ежедневных нервотрепок, из типажей, из странностей и дикостей - то есть, из любимого мною материала жизни. Денег по-прежнему не хватало, но я писала книгу и жизнь воспринимала как-то боковым зрением. Роман вышел и оказался увлекательным, трогающим, бередящим какие-то струны души. Причем, не только израильских читателей, но и российских. Его стали переводить, переиздавать...И вот тогда, расписываясь за гонорары, я поняла важный принцип работы той самой неприступной Небесной бухгалтерии. Принцип, собственно, простой, давно запечатленный в чьей-то поговорке: "Не корми бедняка бесплатной рыбой, подари ему удочку". Роман этот кормит меня до сих пор. И значит, радует читателей. Выходит, на удочку мою поймана достойная рыбина"? Дина Рубина
