A Little Book of Eastern Wisdom is a wide-ranging and thought-provoking collection of spiritual and meditative gems by mystics, prophets, poets, and philosophers, mainly from the Middle East, ordered here into thematic sections by translator and author Claude Field. It was first published in 1910 by George G. Harrap & Co. The numerous authors and sources include: Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (Rumi), Abu-Muhammad Muslih al-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi (Saadi), Ibn Khallikan, and extracts from The Dabestan-e Mazaheb. Subject headings include god, patience, death, humility, friendship, life, love, kindness, woman, character, man, grace, sacrifice, faith, hatred, self-control, conscience, beauty, the world, sin, providence, hypocrisy, and fate and fortune. It is read by Greg Wagland.
