Resumen del Editor

Spartacus Brink is a Knight Templar, magically transported to a strange and ancient land called Arcadia. Bailey Humblebucket has fallen in love with a kidnapped girl whom he met in a dream. A dark and powerful guardian has raised an army of undead soldiers who will stop at nothing to destroy them all. An ancient magician holds the fate of the Earth in the palm of his hand. And a large shaggy dog is starting to become...really quite peckish.

Join them all for a bareback ride through the undergarments of medieval Europe, stopping only to pillage the humble belongings of a blind beggar, spend the proceeds on drink, and stagger back home exhausted, just in time for a bowl of lentil soup and bed.

Great adventure for the young at heart

A Path Amongst The Stars is the young adult fantasy debut novel from British author Mike Duckles. I’m always more than happy to experience these tales aimed at a younger audience and I think that A Path Amongst The Stars is perfectly suited for teenagers searching for a new world to explore, especially now with this captivating audiobook version available.

The story follows a young Knights Templar and his friends through a journey filled with perils and mysteries in the far, ancient, and magical world of Arcadia. For the almost 11 hours of this audio production, the listener will take part in heroic adventures alongside some of the most endearing and colorful characters in recent memory.

I don’t want to get into more detail because I try not to spoil the experience for anyone, but I can confirm that this is a well written, captivating, entertaining, and amusing tale that will keep young readers or listeners on the edge of their seat, eagerly awaiting to see what’s next.

Professional voice artist and audiobook narrator Malk Williams uses his versatile voice to great success. He delivers a balanced performance, switching seamlessly between narration and the different characters, assigning each of them credible and natural voices or accents. I really enjoyed his approach for A Path Amongst The Stars and I think that he did a great job of bringing to life this magical story.

I hope that A Path Amongst The Stars is a first book in a new series and I highly recommend it to teenagers and adults alike. It feels fresh, original and I especially loved the imaginative names bestowed upon the characters.

It has everything!

This is a story about a Knight Templar, Spartacus Brink, who finds himself wandering the land of Arcadia. Having arrived there rather mysteriously, Brink and his new friends will have to come up against the evil guardian and his army of zombie-like followers. The fun is just beginning!

The author, M. G. Duckles has crafted a world that most teenagers and young adults will love! Characters include the undead, a magician, a kidnapped “dream” girl, and Bailey Humblebucket! The names of the characters are cute, fun, and unique! Each character is well developed and essential to the flow of the story. The storyline is detailed and vivid with a few plot twists and lots of action!

The narrator, Malk Williams provides an attention-getting performance fitting each character with an appropriate voice enhancing their personalities. Speaking clearly and with a steady cadence, Williams’ performance allows the listener to get caught up in the story.

This is a delightful and fresh story that young adults will love.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was well done.
