What fascinating history. It had a slow and somewhat confusing start, but it was unique and interesting enough to stick with it. I had the murderer figured out early on, but there were enough other things going on to leave doubt in my mind. Years ago, Stevie Zimmerman was a narrator I enjoyed. Over the years, I’ve grown weary of her sing-song, repetitive inflections. Most sentences have the same sound, with many of them having elongated words at the end of sentences, some with upticks. It was more listenable at a faster speed. I liked this book enough to download the next one in the series.
