Historia
Peter Lynch, one of the most successful investors of all time, shows you how to use what you already know to make money in the market. You'll discover why smart money is not so smart - and why you may be a better stock picker than the pros, how to follow your hunches and back them up with facts, how to disregard reports on the economy and pick your own time to buy and sell, and how to determine which types of stocks are right for you. Lynch is the former manager of the $9 billion Fidelity Magellan Fund, where he earned investors a $190,000 return on a $10,000 investment.

In AD 200, the Roman Empire seemed unassailable, its vast territory accounting for most of the known world. By the end of the fifth century, Roman rule had vanished in Western Europe and much of northern Africa, and only a shrunken Eastern Empire remained. This was a period of remarkable personalities, from the philosopher-emperor Marcus Aurelius to emperors like Diocletian, who portrayed themselves as tough, even brutal, soldiers.

Resumen del Editor
In a time of market volatility and economic uncertainty, when high-frequency traders and hedge fund managers seem to tower over the average investor, Burton G. Malkiel's classic and gimmick-free investment guide is now more necessary than ever. Rather than tricks, what you'll find here is a time-tested and thoroughly research-based strategy for your portfolio. Whether you're considering your first 401(k) contribution or contemplating retirement, this fully updated edition of A Random Walk Down Wall Street should be the first book on your wish list.
In A Random Walk Down Wall Street, you'll learn the basic terminology of "The Street" and how to navigate it with the help of a user-friendly, long-range investment strategy that really works. Drawing on his own varied experience as an economist, financial adviser, and successful investor, Malkiel shows why, despite recent advice to the contrary from so-called experts in the wake of the financial crisis, an individual who buys over time and holds a low-cost, internationally diversified index of securities is still likely to exceed the performance of portfolios carefully picked by professionals using sophisticated analytical techniques.
In this new edition, Malkiel has provided valuable new material throughout the book on exchange-traded funds and investment opportunities in emerging markets, and in a brand-new, timely chapter, Malkiel authoritatively assesses the pitfalls and prospects of the latest investing trend, "smart beta". On top of all this, the book's classic life-cycle guide to investing, which tailors strategies to investors of any age, will help you plan confidently for the future. You'll learn how to analyze the potential returns not only for basic stocks and bonds but for the full range of investment opportunities - from money-market accounts and real estate investment trusts to insurance, home ownership, and tangible assets like gold and collectibles.

Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

Great book for getting some valuable information about stock markets
This book is a great resource to get some basic and practical information to use in the stock market. If you are someone that does not have any info about the market or someone with limited info, this book could guide you how to react to the market fluctuations. The author in different parts of the book emphasize on its basic principle which sometimes become overwhelming. I believe that the flow of the book could be better and more attractive to readers.

An investing book to 'buy and hold'
I've read about 20 books on investing and I only remember this one and the Warren Buffet biography because those are the two best. This book is just witty enough to make it enjoyable to listen to but not too witty that it shows off. Narrator is great and it lays down the truth about everything you'll ever need or want to know about stocks. Loved it. Will re-read next time I go broke in stocks again to remind myself how to do it right.

Really fun, especially for an investment book
This has to be the most frequently revised book I have ever read. We first heard of this book on the PBS
television show Wall Street Week back in the 1970’s. In a way, I’m sorry I didn’t read it then. But then
again, I’m just as glad, because usually when I read a book, I consider myself done with it and don’t
come back to it over and over. So I would have missed most of the stories in this edition about the
scams and bubbles and what not during the past 40 years or so.
Most of the book was really fun, and some of it quite funny. It was only at the end with the
concentrated how-to investment advice, which is really good if you have any money to invest, that it
gets into the dry, boring financial stuff.
