A Troubled Child is a coming-of-age contemporary romance that explores the lives of Lincoln West and Aneeka Thatcher, two people with tangled pasts who find themselves thrown together during rough times. This story is about love, resilience, redemption, and holding onto hope even when life throws curveballs.
Lincoln West thought he had it all—a love so romantic, success, and happiness—until the pandemic tore his world apart, taking his beloved wife, Annie, whom he met on a cruise ship in 1998. Their love was sweet but not without its challenges, such as struggling to have children and dealing with health issues.
Devastated after losing his wife and searching for meaning and purpose in his life, Lincoln returns to the Texas Gulf Coast to reconnect with the only family he has left, his foster parents, Jessie and Riley, who saved him as a teen and turned his life around. There, he discovers Jessie is battling terminal cancer. In a moment of clarity, Jessie asks Lincoln to promise to care for Riley after he's gone. On the other side, Aneeka Thatcher is trying to get her life back on track and avoid going back to prison.
Amidst his grief and newfound responsibilities, Lincoln bumps into Aneeka Thatcher at Drunken Sally's bar, a place packed with memories for both of them. Aneeka's story is filled with her struggles to reconnect with her estranged family. Together, they face a ruthless Mexican cartel, uncover family secrets, and discover an anointed granddaughter who might be their salvation.
In a world filled with threats, betrayals, and the need for vengeance, Lincoln and his newfound family confront their pasts and forge a future built on friendship and unbreakable bonds.

Wonderful Book! A Must Read!
I was captivated by the many twists and turns in this book. I loved all the characters and found it hard to stop listening. The virtual voice narration added an amazing touch to the experience. Overall, a great book!
