“You know I love you, Asher,” he sighed, swallowing hard.
The City of Laketon, Michigan hosts a car ferry hub that crosses Lake Michigan to the city of Magawakin, Wisconsin each day. The ferry, also known as the Wolverine, crosses with a host of vehicles and passengers for the eight-hour round trip. Travelers enjoy top deck amenities such as a restaurant, movie theater, live entertainment, and fun things for kids, including a play area for children and a gaming room for teens.
Asher angers his entire family when he decides to run the technology and gaming program for teenagers on the Wolverine. He loves the feedback and is garnering some amazing data for his own line of games he would like to produce. Having taken somewhat for granted all that he has had in life, he is not prepared to meet Max. The kid is angry and tough to get through to, but he is smart, which surprisingly brings out a greater need for help than he expected.
Violet has a tough job covering a large rural area and several small towns while managing a hectic foster child roster. Max continues to be the one she has great hope for, but the boy keeps running away. When she sees him with Asher, though, something falls into place. Now she is trying to convince the temporary technology manager to be the influence to change Max’s life while not allowing herself to fall for him in turn.
