Acerca de esta escucha

Can you ever really know if love is true? And if it is, should you stop at anything to get it? Two decades ago, Erin Edwards was sure she’d already found the love of her life: Nate Lawson. Her first love. The one with whom she shared everything--dreams of the future, of children, plans for forever. The one she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. Until one terrible night when Erin made a mistake Nate could not forgive and left her to mourn the relationship she could never forget or get over. Today, Erin is contentedly involved with a phenomenal guy, maneuvering a successful and exciting career, and raising a great daughter all on her own. So why would the name “Nate Lawson” be the first thing to enter her mind when her boyfriend asks her to marry him? In the wake of the proposal, Erin finds herself coming unraveled over the past, and the love she never forgot. The more she tries to ignore it and move on, the more it haunts her.

Always Something There to Remind Me is a story that will resonate with any woman who has ever thought of that one first love and wondered, “Where is he?” and “What if…?” Filled with Beth Harbison’s trademark nostalgia humor and heart, it will transport you, and inspire you to believe in the power of first love.

I love to reread this book.

I’ve read this book many times and it’s like an old friend. Great characters and journey. Plus Orlagh Cassidy gives superb narration.

Great

I wish the narrators would not try to change their voice. Otherwise this was a great story. I enjoyed very much!!

Cute enough story, not spectacular

Is there anything you would change about this book?

A nice enough story. A bit predictable though. It was a bit too descriptive for a love story, if that's possible.

What about Orlagh Cassidy’s performance did you like?

I like Orlagh Cassidy better than the book.

Mixed feelings about this book

I think this is a good story. Maybe it was just hard to read about people who refuse to grow up. But then there is that destiny thing in here also. I would really hate to think my fifteen year old was doing the things this girl was doing...alot. First impression was this was for a younger crowd but no I don't think so. I suppose it revisits the angst of being young, having too much want, hormones, availability, and like most girls messing that up. It was well written but I'm still not sure I liked this book.

I hated it!!!!!

No one should go through that much pain at that young age. The whole thing was just too depressing. I've always enjoyed Beth Harbison's books because of the humor and good stories. Not this one. I should have saved the credit.

For all those with a romantic heart...

Yes it may be a little cheesy, but at points I had to stop doing whatever I was doing to just listen. Narrater was excellent! Made me remember all the good times of first love.

The story really made me lose faith in women

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

For a sappy woman I guess but not for the realist.

What was most disappointing about Beth Harbison’s story?

It was interesting but to hear of a woman pining away for a man who didn't care enough to be honest with her is just terribly disappointing in this day and age. Who is that foolish in life? Aren't women over the fairy tale already?

Which character – as performed by Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?

Cam is the best and most realistic character. Out of the mouths of babes, they say.

Could you see Always Something There to Remind Me being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

The story is very Hollywood.

I got the book for the narrator. Love her voice.

The book itself is a little wishy washy! Woman can't forget her first love but one is never sure why. Goes back and forth from present adult to when she was a teenager. The teenage years are more interesting than the present. She spent most of the present going why why why why with not much happening !!! Gets tedious and boring. Predictable! But The narrator made it almost worth it, almost.
