There's a lot at stake in getting our personal ideas through to someone. Kingdoms have fallen, fortunes lost, and relationships destroyed by misunderstandings resulting from poor communication between parties. Making ourselves understood, either by one person or an auditorium full, isn't something most of us learned much about in school. Or in life. Yet, being heard and understood is vital to our success and happiness. Effective communication requires understanding of the process, and very often, effort. "Am I Getting Through" is a compact overview of the broad subject of personal communication. Entire college degrees are focused on the subject encapsulated here in this user-friendly digest. It's a first look, an eagle's eye view, of a uniquely human process that started when Adam met Eve, and we still haven't got it right.
