Most students who attend the university come from wealthy families, and Lark is only a scholarship and a bus ride away from the trailer park where he lives. It's also a dream come true because dance is his life, and their program is one of the most prestigious in the country. But there are bumps in the road, like running into someone from his childhood.

love the characters
First, I absolutely adore Gary Furlong as a narrator. I started this series because of him.
Second, I absolutely love this little novella. Melvin and Ezra have stolen my heart, second in this saga to Blaine and Hanovi (forgive my spelling, I've only listened to it thus far). Ezra has that tired, stressed vibe someone crushed under capitalism does, with the added fear of the debt collectors thrown in. Melvin is the charming noble everyone wants at some point in their life, and the voice Gary uses for Melvin reminds me of his voice for Gerard Breckingridge from the Soulbound series, which I adore.
I definitely recommend this, whether you listen to this first or after the main novels, you won't regret it.
