A diamond in the gutter

I am pleasantly surprised by the writing and characters. Both story and characters were well written. Overall gave me more than I expected, incredibly written it doesn't feel like a cheap harem novel. The author makes you care about the characters and crave for more. I hope they add the other 2 books in audio format soon. The voice cast were incredible, very solid choice. Making the characters feel alive, real, and something that is truly enjoyable. With all that it makes all other harem novel pale in comparison.

good but aggravating

VA was good, story not my usual cup of tea but enjoyed the drama from start to "finish" really makes you want to strangle one character and with how this book finished, the author XD.

Better listened to than read.

This review is on the audiobook. When I read it, like a few other reviews, it started to dig at me around the 80% mark, guessing as I read it when it came out. My book review should be down there somewhere. But I almost put it down but I am glad I finished it, and looked up book two online and read a few chapters. It's a good book and the audiobook made it better for me. I am slower to average reader, a visual thinker with a lot of empathy, which made a rough patch in the book last a lot longer than it did in the audiobook. Looking forward to the next audiobook. And in the middle of book 2.

Really good stuff

A really good book but desperately needs the sequel. its a great nuanced story other wise and book 2 goes into some great depths

Great Novel

I really enjoyed everything up to the cliffhanger ending. if you enjoy slow burn romance with a focus on character development over plot this book is awesome. If you like bedroom action this may disappoint. Also not much of a plot as the focus is mainly on character development. Finally, the choice of antagonist is quite entertaining. Definitely a novel to read/listen to if you're tired of alpha gigga Chad with superpowers and perfect shaped hotties chasing him.

I loved it and need book 2

I love the characters and the concept. I was hooked in and now I’m wondering if I should read the rest or wait for the sequel to be voiced.

Great story

This was a fabulous story that had me riveted till the end can’t wait for the next one

The pacing isn't quite right

It seems like the author chooses the same pacing for every single interaction. The overuse of adjectives and adverbs in situations that would be best serviced by short, concise descriptions, especially from the internal monologues of any of the characters, is frustrating. The story is amazing, And the narrator really nailed it. It just seems like the author might've been trying to emulate an epic fantasy, when maybe the book called for more sections of terseness.

Everything was well done!

I have never written a review before, but I felt compelled to now. I liked everything I heard in this story, from the writing to the voice acting. I felt like I fell off the end of my seat at the conclusion of this book, and eagerly await the next book I feel must surely be coming next.

Welp... Now I need the rest.

Honestly this book was fantastic. it was excellently performed, even if some words get painfully mispronounced. The entire thing feels like a love letter to contemporary Western anime fan culture. tlThe characters are excellently written and performed even better. I NEEED BOOK 2 AND 3. And whatever comes after as well. this was well worth the credit and I hope to see the other books up for pre-order soon.
