Resumen del Editor
An elite squadron must go undercover behind enemy lines in this thrilling new space adventure from the author of the Odyssey One series.
Humanity has reached an uneasy truce with the Empire—but unless the allies bring the fight to the enemy, extinction is all but assured. In preparation for the inevitable next war, Commander Stephen Michaels is at the helm of the Archangel Squadron, and his orders are simple: go rogue.
Disguised as mercenaries, Commander Michaels and the Archangels seek valuable intelligence on their imposing foe. Their mission takes them deep into uncharted territory, where they make inroads with the Empire, fiercely guarding their true identities and purpose. Fighting for the enemy goes against everything they stand for, but these are desperate times.
As their deception increases, so does the risk. With the Empire’s deadliest secrets within reach, Commander Michaels and the Archangels accept a mission that will take them even deeper into the Imperial fold. They know all too well that one wrong step won’t just end their lives—it could end their entire civilization.

It has been over a year since the UnArcana Worlds of the Protectorate of the Mage-King of Mars seceded, shattering the unity of the human race. The new Republic of Faith and Reason has raised new banners in defiance of the power of the Protectorate's Mage aristocracy. Now, Hand Damien Montgomery commands a relief mission to a Republic world ravaged by famine. His humanitarian mission collides with a newborn military beginning to flex its muscles - and a newborn nation prepared to accept no violations of its sovereignty, regardless of their needs.

Earth is conquered. Sol is lost. One ship is tasked to free them. One Captain to save them all. When an alien armada destroys the United Earth Space Force and takes control of the human homeworld, newly reinstated Captain Annette Bond must take her experimental hyperspace cruiser Tornado into exile as Terra's only interstellar privateer. She has inferior technology, crude maps, and no concept of her enemy, but the seedy underbelly of galactic society welcomes her so long as she has prizes to sell and money to spend.

Historia
The plot by the Galactic Union’s Mercenary Guild against the Four Horsemen has culminated in an invasion of Earth. Faced with an overwhelming force, the human mercs had no choice. They’ve fled, leaving Sansar Enkh to go to the Mercenary Guild headquarters on Capital Planet to stand trial for humanity. On the run, Jim Cartwright and Nigel Shirazi have travelled to the Winged Hussars’ secret base of New Warsaw, in an effort to convince Alexis Cromwell to join the fight, while the other mercenaries who escaped the fall of Earth have gone to the perceived safe haven of Karma.

Historia
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Historia
Almost 400 years the Terran Imperium has languished, an Empire in name only. The young colonies exploded out of the Diaspora Era, supplanting the homeworld in importance as they left a broken world in their wake. Earth's people, guided by the Conwin line, have clawed and climbed from the darkness left the night the lights went out. They built and rebuilt the weary and weakened world they inherited, even when it seemed bent on killing them from sheer spite.

Historia
The world fell, the invaders won, and demons now ruled what had once been man's domain. The great works of a once powerful civilization lie in ruins, its people having forgotten the wonders of their forefathers as they now live in the yoke. Not everyone is willing to go quietly into the endless night, however. Human pests still infest occasional parts of the conquered world. In one nearly uninhabitable part of that world, a very young such pest has come of age and, without understanding what it means, she walks in the shadow of destiny.

Great Start!
As always with a narrator change, it is an adjustment. After about an hour I got used to it and he was fine for the rest of the book. Good voice but you could tell it was his first "space" book and had some laughable mistakes. Looks like before this he stuck with cheese ball romance/erotica book so I guess he needs to lean those science words!. The book its self was great. More of a continuation than a new series. This book is a great setup for the series to come. Fast paced with great characters, and all the main characters from the first series are here.I have already preordered the second book in the series.

I love it
Out of all the books ever written by Evan Currie this would definitely be in one of my top three, I have never laughed as hard or as much as I did listening to this audiobook I definitely love the aspect Mr Currie is taking in this series of books.

story from Evan is great and deep as always
HOWEVER... The narrator did not match any of the characters and really hurt my feelings. this was actually a great (.x) story arc branch of this series. however the narrator was sub par. I will go so far as to say sub par at BEST! Honestly he was not bad for a Clancy novel or something similar... However Evan Currie has created a universe that needs more depth from the narrator. both narrators from the main vein of story were great (I was concerned when 4th book had a new narrator but have no complaints after losing narrator #1) even the ( .x) narrator was great (especially because the characters were different than main ark). The fact a majority of characters in this book are the characters we have come to know and love it really detracts from the story. I don't if Evan was part of the production process but this need to be addressed. I have loved this series since 1st book and honestly had to read the book just to wash narrator out of my ears after listening. Please fix this going forward. i love this stories universe and have both read and listened to all books in it's realm. first time I have been marginally unhappy was this book. pick any of the three narrators involved in this series besides this guy. :/

Entertaining story. I look forward to continuing the series.
We love all of Evan Currie’s book series and this seems to be the start of another good one. I’m glad the next book will becoming out soon because we were rather left up in the air on this one (my only criticism). His characters and world building are always interesting so it will be nice to see where he’s going with them in the next book.

Excellent Start to Series/Speed was a Little Slow
Sometimes you find a book when you just need it most. I tend to really enjoy military science fiction stories, but oddly enough I don’t read them very often. Not sure why that is. I happened to run across this one when randomly searching for something new to read within science fiction. Kindle Unlimited offered this one in both written and audio format. I chose the audio version and it was a blast!
---------------------------------------
This was so much fun to listen to. It’s actually the first in a new series, but the universe it exists in originates from the Odyssey One series. This is my first time to read anything by this author so everything in it was new to me.
As best I can tell, the premise is that at the end of the Odyssey One series there is a truce of sorts between Earth and their allies with the Imperialists. However, no one believes the Empire is just going to let things lie. So, with brand new fighter ships that no one has seen before, the Archangel squadron is given the task to go into deep space, pretend to be pirates and start gathering intelligence. What occurs is they find themselves assisting in a battle between two planets, but in the process they learn a lot more is going on from behind the scenes by the Empire.
Audio Book Review
I thoroughly enjoyed the drama and action this book presented over audio. Archangel One is full of action and military space fights and listening to this made everything come alive – from the story, to the characters and to the stress they are all under. If I had to choose between reading orders being given by a character or hearing orders being barked at to another character, I’ll choose the latter every time. I will never go to space or participate in a space opera, but listening to a space battle on audio has got to be the closest thing to it. So much drama and action!
The story also has a wide range of characters in the book, providing the narrator a lot of opportunities to shine with his many voices and accents.
Although, I loved the story and audio book, I did have two very minor issues when listening. First, the audio speed was rather slow. I’m not someone who usually increases the speed of an audio book, although I believe many do. However, the original speed was just a bit too slow for me to listen to, so I felt I needed to increase it in order to make it feel a little more natural sounding. Doing so also created another positive – action scenes come at you quicker and helped increase the intensity of the story. The other issue is more because it was a new series to me than anything else and that is how it was a little difficult at the beginning for me to distinguish where the different scenes take place. In the book, there is clearly a heading telling you where you are in the universe – Earth, Empire, etc. and it does get announced in the story, but somehow my ears had trouble picking this up at first. Thankfully, I did have the book to fall back on and could quickly look to in these situations.
Overall, I found the story to have a cohesive order to it, where circumstances don’t feel out of place or position within the context of the story. In general, I am not very knowledgeable in spaceships and the science of them, so I can’t comment too much on that part, but I found it was generally easy to pick up and understand. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series when it comes out in January 2020.

It was OK
It was OK not great not awful
I think this is the ninth book in this universe and the second spinoff series
It brought the original characters from the first seven books into two groups doing different things so if you’re interested In what’s going on with the Odysseus that takes up about a quarter of this book and was the most interesting part

change of narrator
love the last narrator no hate on the new one. just the change of word pronunciations and character accents threw me off a little. he still did a good job put a more darker demiter on Erik west when he seemed more confident in the last books.

Love being back in the universe, poor narration!
It's great being back in this universe! I enjoyed the original very much and listened to them with 2 different narrators who at least tried but this narrator blatantly didn't do his homework. strange pronunciations, different accented characters, and mispronounced words are just a few of the things you'll have to overcome. I enjoyed the story but not the execution.
