Three historic American hotels are the subject of this fascinating travelogue featuring introductions from hotel representatives. First up is the Hotel Alex Johnson in Rapid City, South Dakota known affectionately as the A. J., with a good-humored history lesson discussing the A. J.'s ties to Native American culture and its infamous hauntings. Next is the Franklin Hotel in Deadwood, which boasts former guests such as Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Additional trivia includes how the lack of rodents in the area can be traced to the arrival of cats with Deadwood prostitutes. Finally, the section on the Izaak Walton Inn in Essex, Montana, reveals its wild railroad roots and connection to the Blackfoot people.
