The title of this book, Black Days, is employed metaphorically to describe periods of extreme racial violence, unrest and persecution directed against Black Americans in the United States. The phrase evokes the darkness and tragedy of these events, but also the strength, resilience, determination and even triumph of Black communities during such times.
