  • The West Clare Capital is set to reap the rewards of a multi-million euro project that will prevent the discharge of raw sewerage into the Shannon Estuary. It comes as Uisce Eireann has this week completed the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in Kilrush. The €11m investment also involves the installation of new sewer pipelines and upgrades to the existing pumping station on Frances Street. Uisce Eireann Programme Manager Esther White has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan its the first of a number of projects in the pipeline for the region.
