Crochet History
The first crochet pattern was written by Mademoiselle Riego de la Branchardiere in 1829. She was the daughter of French father and Irish mother. Riego was known as the mother of crochet and the creator of the Irish crochet style. Her first book was published at the age of 18 about fiber and needlework.
