With smartphones offering endless entertainment at our fingertips, genuine conversations often feel slow and boring. Notifications constantly interrupt, making it difficult to focus on the person in front of us.


    I’ve experienced this myself, both as the distracted and the distractor, even with my own kids. My wife and I try to limit phone use at home, but these devices always find their way back into our hands.


    The goal isn’t to make anyone feel guilty, but to remind us of the most precious gift we can give: attention. Every interaction with our children is an opportunity to show love by being fully present. Next time your child starts talking to you, put the phone away, turn off the TV, and focus on them. In a distracted world, undivided attention is a beautiful proof of love.
