Baseball Hall of Fame's Only Woman Inductee

De: Jason Jackson Amin Elhassan Kaia Alderson
  • Resumen

  • Jason Jackson and Amin Elhassan (filling in for Kirk Morrison) are joined by Kaia Alderson, author of 'In A League Of Her Own'. Kaia's book tells the story of a woman who changed baseball. Effa Manley co-owned her own Negro League baseball team, and she is the only woman ever inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. The story follows Manley's acquisition of a Negro Leagues baseball team and how she navigates her way through running the club, dealing with flirtatious players, and dealing with folks who felt a woman's 'place' was at home. Jason and Amin discuss former NBA player Gilbert Arenas' comments toward former NBA player Luol Deng and the South Sudan basketball team following an exhibition game against Team USA ahead of the games in Paris. Gilbert was way off base with his comments, and the guys were glad Gilbert apologized for his comments. The show ends with a discussion on HBCU football programs and how they are approaching this era of NIL & the transfer portal in different ways.
