The Detroit Tigers triumphed over the Seattle Mariners in a thrilling game at Comerica Park on Thursday afternoon. After trailing 1-0 since the first inning, the Tigers made a stunning comeback in the bottom of the eighth inning when Javier Baez smashed a two-run home run, propelling Detroit to a 2-1 victory. Alex Faedo gave up the only Mariners run on the day but was effectively followed by Kenta Maeda and Shelby Miller, who combined for 7.0 innings of hitless relief with six strikeouts. Jason Foley then closed the game with a perfect ninth inning. For the Mariners, Bryce Miller delivered a brilliant 7.0 inning start, allowing only two hits with nine strikeouts but was ultimately let down by the bullpen. With this victory, the Tigers continue to strive for a strong finish to the season.
