  • The Red Sox made hit back-to-back wins with a 3-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday night at Fenway Park. Bello went 8 innings for the 1st time in his big league career and notched his team-leading 12th win. Sox go for the Series win with the finale on Thursday. -----Bello On The Bump: Brayan Bello worked into the 8th Inning for the 1st time this season and for just the 2nd time in the Big Leagues. Bello allowed just 1 Hit and retired 12 of the 1st 13 hitters he faced through the 1st 4 Innings. H walked the leadoff hitter in the 5th and then got a groundball Double Play and a strikeout to get through the inning. He took the mound in the 8th with a 1-0 lead and retired the side 1-2-3. It was his 5th perfect inning of the night.Bello's Line- 8.0 IP. 2 Hits. 0 R. 0 ER. 1 BB. 9 Ks. -----Closing the Door- Kenley Jansen worked a 1-2-3 9th to preserve the Red Sox 13th shutout win of the season. It is Jansen's 25th save of the season and the 445th of his career. -----On The Board 1st: Jarren Duran led off the Home 1st Inning with a Home Run Tuesday night. On Wednesday night, Duran led off with a single and eventually scored on a 2-out RBI Single from Wilyer Abreu.-----Insurance Runs: Tyler O'Neill hit a 2-run Home Run in the 8th inning to provide Jansen some insurance for the 9th Inning. It was O'Neill's 24th on the season. -----Against Bassitt: Sox got a run in the 1st on 3 hits and did collect their next hit until the Bottom of the 7th Inning against Blue Jays starter, Chris Bassitt. Masa Yoshida reached with a leadoff single in the 7th and went to 2nd on a single from Connor Wong. Romy Gonzalez popped up on a bunt attempt for the 1st out in the 7th. Bassitt came back and struck out Ceddanne Rafaela on a sweeper and that brought an end to his night. -----Into the Pen: Brandon Little, a lefty, was brought in and he retired Duran on a fly out. Sox left 2 runners on base in the 7th and -----Another Day of Rest: Rafael Devers was not in the starting lineup for the 2nd straight game as he deals with shoulder issues. Manager Alex Cora told the media Wednesday that Devers will return either Thursday for the finale against the Blue Jays or for the series opener in Detroit against the Tigers on Friday. The Sox are 8-7 when Devers has been held out of the starting lineup this season. He did miss 11 games back in March and April. -----The Return of Hill: 44-year-old Rich Hill was added to the 40-man roster and active roster on Tuesday. He made 1 appearance at Triple-A and is back for his 20th season in the Big Leagues. Brad Keller was Designated for Assignment on Tuesday.
