  • Resumen

  • I’m Jessie Brinton. I’m a journalist, the founder of the platform, Mothership, the host of this podcast, and a mum. I worked in fashion for years, and I used to spend a lot of time looking out for the most interesting stories. People, bands, clothes, products that you had to have. Then I had a baby and realised, "oh god, the planet is in terrible trouble. Everything that we love is at risk." And it all felt so big and overwhelming. Was anybody doing something about it? Governments? No, they don’t seem to be doing much. Big companies? Nope, they’re being very slow. The media? They’re hardly talking about it. OK - so who else is there?! Well it's obvious: us! The mums, aunties, grandmas, sisters, carers, dog mums, plant mums. All the people with a very special super power called “care” who are already doing small brilliant things every day that ripple out into the lives around them. Small things often go unnoticed because we can be a bit quiet about them and we often do them on our own. But wouldn’t it be great if we put them all together: the small things we already do, and the small things we could do, and talked to each other and worked it out together. That’s what this podcast is about. Every week, I’ll be tracking down the people who know what’s up and asking them to fess up to the one small thing they're brilliant at and how they've used that to move mountains. Tune in to hear the stories, get the inspo and download the best answers out there to what's surely the most significant question of our time: "but what can I do?!" This is your chance to be part of the moment when the mums (and aunties, grandmas, sisters, carers, plant mums and dog mums) take charge, as it happens.
