Humor is the best part of baseball. To survive a long season, the everyday schedule, and the failure that is inherent in the game people have always needed a good laugh about a ballgame from time to time.
The stories in Baseball Humor: A Collection of Stories by Master Storytellers poke good fun at the struggles, ambition, greed, romance, envy, wisdom, and quirks of the players, managers, wives, and fans. Included are “The Pitcher and the Plutocrat” by P G Wodehouse, “Horseshoes” and “Alibi Ike” by Ring Lardner, “The Red-Headed Outfield” and “The Rube” by Zane Gray, and many others.
These 14 rib tickling tales were originally published in the 1910s and 1920s when Major League baseball was the only professional sport and newspapers and magazines were a major source of entertainment. While the material is from a hundred years ago the human spirit that comes out still rings true today.

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Refreshingly humorous and nostalgic!
A refreshingly humorous sojourn back to the days before “willy nilly” rule changes and monster contracts, “Baseball Humor: A Collection of Stories from Master Storytellers” is a humorous and varied collection of stories harking back to when baseball was … well BASEBALL, a real game, played by normal men, the nations pastime, a game needing no enhancements to attract a fanbase. The players depicted in these stories are not the prima donnas in tight pants boasting big contracts and exploiting free agency of today, they are they players of days gone by, lucky to get fed, lucky to get a bed, flawed, and capable of just about ANYTHING, as you will see as you listen to this brilliant collection from days gone by! As a special treat, this collection is realistically and fantastically narrated by the author, giving this five star listen an authentic vintage feel! Don’t pass it by!
