Exciting and Enjoyable!

Set to a rhyming rhythm, Papa Bear surprises his family with their next great adventure: they are going camping! Excitement ensues as they eagerly plan and then experience this great new adventure.

The author, Dennis Donet, crafts this delightful story that flows smoothly and easily as a rhyming-styled narrative. While it is around 10 minutes long, he still builds the characters and narrative in rich and colorful ways. The listener can feel the excitement of the first camping trip through his use of vivid imagery and rich dialogue.

The narrator, Heather Dzielinski, is wonderful as she places emphasis where appropriate to enhance the characters’ excitement. She speaks clearly and with a lilt, placing appropriate emphasis to enrich the listener’s experience.

Although this is a very short listen, it is an appropriate length for children to capture and maintain their interest while introducing them to the opportunities offered by the outdoors. I highly recommend this audiobook, my three-year-old grandson loved it!
