Great story and Narrator!!

Just finished listening to the book.. it was as good as The Red Circle. I can't wait for the next installment.

Not as good as I hoped

I enjoy Anthony Horowitz novels so I tried this one. I won’t be reading or listening to any more in this series. Personally I don’t appreciate stories where children are evil and I did not appreciate the gratuitous and unnecessary sexual references in the story. To me, a talented author does not need to fall back on these scenes because they have too much of a story to unfold in a timely fashion. After two books in this series, we still don’t know enough about Sherlock to go back for a third try. While I also don’t like apocalyptic stories, I did find the premise of the decline of London presented in this book thought provoking. The narrator was very good and kept the story moving at a good pace and with good inflections.

The characters are vivid, dynamic, do their creator justice. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Nothing. I hope there are many more by this author and narrator. Horowitz is a genius.

Intriguing spin on the characters

Took a while to rev up, but glad I stuck with it! Author does a good job of altering the characters and narrative in a believable and enjoyable way.

Well done! I love the fresh perspective of a future with Sherlock and the cast of characters from the original. I'm impatient for more.

Excellent narration

I listened to The Red Circle and liked it so much I immediately bought The Irregulars but was so disappointed that I almost returned it after one hour. The first half of the story was slow and not very interesting. I listened on only because of the excellent narrator. Luckily the pace picked up after 3 or 4 hours. I certainly hope that Book 3 will be better.

What a shame

I am so tired of authors trying to rewrite everything in order to inject their liberal nonsense. While the story and writing are good and I’d like to listen to more, I just can’t stomach hearing Sherlock Holmes ruined by someone trying to turn it into something else. Write an original story with original characters if your goal is to push your views on everyone.
