Acerca de esta escucha

In retired Delta Force officer Brad Taylor' s latest adrenaline-fueled short story, Pike Logan and his fellow Taskforce operators face a team of ruthless modern-day pirates with a devious plan that leaves them fighting for their very survival.

On leave after a particularly critical and dangerous mission with the Taskforce - a top secret counterterrorist unit that operates outside the bounds of US law - operators Knuckles and Brett have joined Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill in Charleston, South Carolina. Their goal is to learn more about Grolier Recovery Services, the archaeological research agency that the Taskforce team uses as sophisticated cover for their work. But when Knuckles accepts a job to find missing treasure from the notorious pirate Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, the whole team is put to the test, because their new employers have a very different agenda, one that leaves members of the Taskforce at the mercy of real pirates determined to get their hands on a shipment of precious contraband at any cost.

No Down Time for the Unit

I don't know if saying this short is fun makes sense for a suspense espionage thriller but it has a lightness that some of the other stories in this series don't have. The usual action, gender struggle, character interplay are all here. The story doesn't necessarily provide background or advance the over all story of the Task Force or the unit, but does provide a glimpse into the group when they are supposedly on down time.

Excellent!

Consistent with series. Keep 'em coming. As a short, you still get all you'd expect from Pike and company.

Very worthwhile...!

Audiobook Review - Black Flag - Brad Taylor
Author Brad Taylor’s short story novella, “Black Flag” Book 4.5 is about Taskforce team members Knuckles and Brett joining Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill in Charleston, South Carolina to learn more about Grolier Recovery Services, the archaeological research agency that the Taskforce team uses as sophisticated cover for their work. But when Knuckles accepts a job to find missing treasure from the notorious pirate known as Blackbeard, the whole team is put to the test, because their new employers have a very different agenda, one that leaves the Taskforce members at the mercy of real modern day pirates who are determined to get their hands on a mysterious shipment of contraband at any cost. An intense ‘high seas’ short story that I completed in one sitting. The action sequences in this novella (2 hours, 20 minutes) are well written and edge-of-the seat exciting. Taylor wastes no time in getting to it in this highly recommended read. Great series! Probably the best 2 hour short story I've listened to in awhile. Love the Pike Logan series and really appreciate Brad Taylor's writing. Really like the concept of two narrators - especially a different voice for the main character. Finished this short story while sitting in Tampa Bay traffic...

Quick Read

This novella had decent action and a fairly basic plot. I haven't read but one other Pike Logan book so I can't compare it to the rest of the series. It was an okay short story that filled the time until the next Harlan Coben book drops later this month. Glad it was free.

I was not a fan of the two-narrator approach. Neither one impressed me.
