Breaking free from any situation - a family that's repressive, evil religious control, a loveless relationship, a tired and dull job or just in a general in a rut in life - can be the best thing you have ever done.
Holding on to negativity is a bit like giving up on life itself. It may be difficult, because of mitigating circumstance, but going the whole way will elevate you from the drudgery of "nothingness", where the mind and body live a robotic existence with no happiness or lasting excitement.
