There may never be another era of science like the first half of the twentieth century, when many of the most important physicists ever to live—Marie Curie, Max Planck, Wolfgang Pauli, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, Ernst Schrödinger, Albert Einstein, and others—came together to uncover the quantum world: a concept so outrageous and shocking, so contrary to traditional physics, that its own founders rebelled against it until the equations held up and fundamentally changed our understanding of reality. Tobias Hürter takes us back to this uniquely momentous and harrowing time.

Resumen del Editor
Isaac Asimov, known primarily for his science fiction stories, was also a scientist. In cooperation with the Senior Scholastic magazine, he composed this wonderful and fascinating work of historical nonfiction.
Twenty-six far-reaching discoveries and the twenty-nine scientists who made them—from Archimedes, who boasted he could move the world, to Goddard, who sent the first liquid-fuel rocket toward space.
These men of vision and genius set their sights beyond the known to bring about hold advances in scientific thinking and enlarge our knowledge of man and his environment.
Masterfully narrated by award-winning narrator Mike Vendetti. This work is an inspiration to young and old alike. Who knew Thomas Alva Edison lost his hearing in one ear because he lost his balance hopping a train, and a trainman grabbed him by the ears to pull him onto the train?

In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Like the nearly 800 other men imprisoned at Guantanamo, Adayfi didn’t know why he was imprisoned or for how long. A good start, knowing Isaac.
The great author Isaac Asimov must have been sharing his beginning thoughts about the history of science. He provided a good start with this book. Too bad he did not create his Science Fiction dream of immortality to keep growing his knowledge and sharing it with us! I hope his 1500 scientist, biographic encyclopedia reference book will be expanded forward by other great writers. Walt Isaacson, a are you listening? Newton’s quote on seeing forward on the shoulders of giants must have been the mantra of Isaac Asimov to drive his prolific and progressive science and science-fiction stories.
