Resumen del Editor

Many people give up on God.

It’s easy to trust in his goodness and strength when life is easy. But how do we persevere in our faith when life gets hard? Few people can show us how to do that better than Allan Schwartz.

Allan’s story of enduring a rare neurological disease is both captivating and life-changing. In the 17 years since his crippling pain began, Allan has suffered through more hospital stays, experimental treatments, misdiagnoses and surgeries than most people endure in a lifetime. And he has endured it all with his faith in God intact.

Allan has been called to persevere, and so have you.

BONUS: This edition includes the new devotional, 10 Days to Persevere.

Very encouraging and timely

My wife and I listened to this on audio book while traveling 2 hrs a day for my wife's Chemotherapy treatments. Pastor Dane did an excellent job at capturing Allan's struggles and victory while keeping the storyline interesting to listen to. Both my wife and I were greatly encouraged in this most difficult season. I Pastor a church Apple Valley, CA and plan to keep a few books on hand to gift to others in our church in seasons of illness or discouragement.

Very Good But Missing Something

Taste and see the Lord is good. This is definitely a five star book without question. No doubt about it. However it is missing a little something. While it’s all about perseverance and extremely inspiring, the fact that it’s written by an all admiring friend is the area where it feels formulaic and schmaltzy. Is Allan as cookie cutter as he seems? In most instances he’s too good to be true. Again this does take away from the book, it’s just it’s written from an the un-objective viewpoint of a loving friend. And that makes Allan look saintly. It’s missing the raw bareness of a first person account. Maybe he is that good. If he is I want his secret because anger with God is real and especially in light of health ruination. Overall, well done and exceptionally narrated.
