Acerca de esta escucha

Son of the shaman is a shaman - but what of the daughters?

When Otto Krugg's daughter follows in his footsteps, he's faced with the task of changing a century-long rule that will force her to make decisions no one should have to make.

When Jimmy Pirano gets tasked with enforcing that rule - no matter what - he goes down the rabbit hole to try to find out who established the rule...and why they can't let it go.

nice background story

excellent background on a character from The solar clipper series. well done on tying Sarah's story into what was already written in the tales of the solar clipper.

Another excellent book from Nathan Lowell

Nathan Lowell’s books are always a joy to listen to. This one fills in some gaps in a character introduced awhile back.

i Love Lowell

This one was a bit repetitive. and I don't like the big time gaps in the story.

I am looking forward to the next one

perfect introduction to half share

perfect introduction to how Sarah Krug got on the Lois McKendrick. I think Sarahs punishing otto was misdirected and rushed at the end though.

I'm actually hoping that there's a third book in this series that follows Otto and changes in the shamans. and also to explain the original history of the welkies.

Depressing, but well written

The writing here is quite good, and if I enjoyed depressing stories, I'd have given this 5 stars.

The characters are true-to-life and the plot is very believable, but the conclusion is too depressing for me.

metaphor

Like all the best science fiction, this one is an excellent social science
metaphor. I plan to combine it with a certain Wikipedia article as an assignment for my students learn about unintended consequences of short-sighted public policy.

Everything Dr Lowell writes is absolutely magnificent! I’m no salt, but I am an academic, and I was a US Navy PACE professor in the Northern Arabian Gulf. I must say that he certainly knows his subject matter.

Ugh, This book is so good

It's annoying how good Nathan Lowell is at giving us complex and realistic characters, ones that have flaws and make mistakes but also try to do the right thing. People are complex and it can be difficult to show that in books when one of your characters is the protagonist and others are just there to help tell the protagonist's story.

This book did not follow the path of what I expected, I'm not mad about it but it certainly wasn't where I thought it was going to go.

Nathan doesn't shy away from hard subjects, but he doesn't dwell on them longer than they need to.

I really really want the next book now.

HARSH, BUT COMPELLING

Nathan Lowell paints a difficult picture, but one we need to see. Cape Grace brings reality to fiction with a deft touch
