Acerca de esta escucha
Ten years ago, in the land of Centernia, a deadly mage feud left Castle Aurumice trapped under a sinister energy field. Fearful, the cat-like inhabitants of the castle were forced to flee with nothing but the clothing on their backs.
Only three people remained in the abandoned castle— the starry-eyed drug addict Misa, her dangerously manipulative brother Teren, and Nico, an alluring fire mage and the last true Lord of Aurumice. Misa is determined to destroy the barrier and save the castlefolk, no matter what trickery it takes.
The young woman’s quest sends her across dimensions to Earth, where she deceives her cousin, Jessica Vance Ravenwolfe, a high school freshman with enough problems of her own. Unwillingly, Jessica is thrown into the wild and beautiful world of Centernia, forced to help her strange cousins. The human girl becomes intertwined with the lives of the enigmatic castlefolk and their mysterious fire mage leader.

A fun adventure in a new world!
I had a lot of fun getting to know the characters in Centernia. I enjoyed exploring the rich world through their eyes and learning a little bit of its history. I feel like the peek into this universe means there's a lot more layers to reveal so while some of this story made me feel wanting, I know there's more books and many of my curiosities and questions will likely be answered.
I sometimes felt like the characters made abrupt shifts I wasn't fully expecting, like they hadn't done enough work "on screen" to make the shift fully believable, but I did enjoy the overall story's arc. The stakes never felt *too high* but there was enough drama and danger to keep me entertained.
I found myself pretty emotional during some of the events and even shed a tear or two near the end.
The narration on this book felt a little rough for me at the start so if you feel that way, stick with it. The actor gets into the characters and it flows great by the end.
I'm hoping the rest of the books in the series get an audio adaptation! I want to know what happens next, and maybe more about what happened before!
