AMAZING NARRATOR
Would you listen to Challenger Deep again? Why?
Michael Curran-Dorsano does a perfect job encapsulating the thoughts and fears of a 15 year old boy. The voices and accents are flawless. I would LOVE to hear more from this narrator.

Slow start but great in the middle
I was so confused for the first part of this novel. And by first part I mean the first third. After it got going and I was able to orient myself (much like the character) it was a intriguing read.

Amazing story
Michael is a great narrator. His ability to grab the audience and take them into the story is beyond words. Shusterman continues to amaze me with such detail and vividness in explaining emotions and scenery. Definitely recommend this book.

Very Different
This one was very different for me. I enjoyed the insight on mental health but the whole ship and captain thing was a little distracting. I still enjoyed it for the most part.

Perspective
The beginning had me confused but as the book progressed I became aware of exactly the message this book was presenting. If you love someone who struggles with mental illness and has sought inpatient treatment, you have to read this book! It will present you with a perspective not possible by remaining an outsider to the mental illness world. I have gained such appreciation and respect for the ones I love who struggles.

Plunge into mental illness
Other reviewers have said it takes a while to get oriented in the story and I agree. The bizarre events need context before they make sense, but the end result is worth the initial investment. This investigation of psychotic breaks is unlike anything I’ve ever heard of-much more effective than reading an article on the subject. Extremely well written. I recommend this for anyone interested in what it may be like inside the illness for those who suffer from it.

Wow!
My book club read this book. I was the only one that listened to it on audible. I think I enjoyed it more than anyone else. The person who read the book really made the characters come to life and I just didn't want the book to end. I learned so much about a topic that I knew little about. I will never forget this book and would highly recommend it!
