Divorced, empty-nested, and staring fifty in the eye is every bit as crappy as it sounds. Luckily, life is about to be shaken, not stirred.

Once she gets there, all is sunshine and fruity cocktails, until she finds an odd, old book in a hidden safe, and a cryptic letter from her father, stashed in a secret safety deposit box. At first, she writes it off to his eccentricity - that is, until she accidentally summons a storm when her ex pushes her one step too far.
Before Jules can master the new magic coursing through her veins, or come to terms with her intense attraction for the hot, mysterious bartender, she uncovers a corrupt plot to hijack power she doesn't yet understand.
Though she may be a few hot flashes past her prime ass-kicking years, she's about to hand out a hard lesson in underestimating the power of experience.

Title misleading
Have you ever read a book and wondered where the title came from because you don’t get the connection between the title and the contents? That is how I felt about this book. There is a disconnect between the title and what in the actual book.. The story does take place in a bar and there are actually witches in it but the storyline really just evolves around one witch for the most part. It doesn’t mean that the story is terrible but it is sort of the typical midlife woman is left by husband for younger woman and discovers this whole new world that has been hidden from her all of her life up to that point.
The narrator isn’t the worst I’ve ever heard but there’s a weird cadence/ inflection that I think is suppose to be a southern accent. The sound of her voice isn’t horrible, it’s just slightly annoying and her overall performance is decent.
