Resumen del Editor

Mitch Rapp returns to make a mortal enemy of Russia in this high-octane and up-to-the-minute installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from “one of the best thriller writers on the planet” (The Real Book Spy).

Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor-bound to answer.

The Syrian government appears to have created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to send someone to keep him on top by any means necessary.

Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

As he crosses into war-torn Syria, Rapp quickly discovers a shocking truth. The new drug isn’t being produced by Damascus to prop up the government’s collapsing finances. Instead, it was created by Russia’s asymmetrical warfare unit, not for profit but as a weapon against the West.

With far more than Damian Losa’s interests at stake, Rapp devises a desperate plan that forces him and his team onto a battlefield where the United States is virtually powerless and allegiances shift almost hourly. Further, if Russia uncovers their plot, it will set off a confrontation between the two countries that could change the course of human history.

Weakest in the series

OK, It's Mitch Rapp, so I'm not saying it's bad, but it is certainly not as good as the previous stories. I'm sure a lot has to do with the change in narrator, after years of listening to George Guidall. Steven Weber is OK, but he doesn't sound like Mitch. The story is also not on par with previous stories. I want to be as fair as I can, but when you have been following a character for 21 previous books and then you make significant changes, it has an impact. Hoping the next story is able to rebound. Mitch is one of my most favorite characters and I hate to see him fade out. This is not a Vince vs Kyle thing, because Kyle has written some awesome books over the past few years. I look forward to the next installment to see where things go.

not my favorite Mitch rap book

I have really enjoyed Mills's writing before he wrote on this series, but was very disappointed with this story. The narration wasn't my favorite either.

Rapp Pays back an IOU and it all goes FUBAR

CIA counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp has a man that he gave an IOU too call it in. That man is Mexican billionaire Damian Losa is one of the biggest and powerful criminals in the world. He wants him to go into Syria and look into a new drug they are distributing. It's costing him tons of money and he wants who is really behind it and make a deal where they can both make money.

But Rapp finds out that it isn't the Syrian government that is really behind the drugs. It's the Russians and they want to perfect it and ship it to America. With it being addictive and people doing anything to get the next hit, the drug is said to cause irreversible brain damage and killing large numbers! Russia wants to import it to the west and take America out! Can Rapp find the ones calling the shots and stop it at the same watching his back because he knows he can't trust Losa?

A great book to end the Era of Kyle Mills writing the Mitch Rapp books! I look forward to see where author Don Bentley takes The best Protagonist in books next!
I want to thank Vince Flynn's family, Kyle, Atria books, Simon & Schuster, Emily Bestler Books and soon to be Don for Keeping Mitch Rapp in the fight!

A letdown

This story was not nearly as engaging as others, and felt rushed. I think perhaps Rapp has run his course. The narration is a disappointment, in particular the voices are quite bad, too much shriek.

This book was good. Not great but good.

PLEASE BRING BACK GEORGE.
I didn’t mind it. But it was nothing like normal. You can’t have the legendary Mitch Rapp without George doing the narration of it. This book seemed a little rushed. Just to get a book out on time. Not up to the level most of the books are. But that could also just be my expectations of the series now. But even with that being said. I still would recommend it. And still liked it.

Blah blah blah

Not a Vince Flynn-Mitch Rapp story. Not interesting. Just going through the motions. Last few novels were crap and this is the worst of the bunch.

Not Mills best Rapp novel/wrong narrator

The book does not start out like a typical Mitch Rapp story. It is too slow in building to the good stuff. Combine that with the choice of new narrator for this novel and its a tough listen.
Steven Weber is a fine narrator but he is definitely not Mitch Rapp. He does not portray him or the other well known characters correctly at all.
Hearing that George is no longer going to do the Rapp series any more if very disappointing. I think Ray Porter could do Rapp justice so I hope they consider that.

I have read/listened to every book in this series and was disappointed with the writing and narration of this one . Sometimes I couldn’t tell who was talking , many characters sound the same .

Good Plot

Very good Rapp adventure. Believable, Russians would try to manipulate a drug to their advantage.
